🌟 Costa Azul: Vegetarian Heaven by the Sea 🌟
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
During our trip to Lanzarote, we were thrilled to discover Costa Azul, a coastal gem offering excellent vegetarian options alongside stunning sea views.
Ambiance: The restaurant's ambiance is serene and inviting, with a beautiful seaside terrace that provided a perfect setting for our dining experience. The soft background music and the sound of the waves created a relaxing atmosphere.
Menu: Costa Azul stands out for its diverse and creative vegetarian menu. Each dish was a delightful blend of flavors and textures. The roasted vegetable paella was a standout, bursting with vibrant colors and fresh ingredients. We also loved the stuffed bell peppers and the rich, creamy avocado salad.
Service: The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing fantastic service from start to finish. They were more than happy to accommodate our dietary preferences and offered great recommendations based on our tastes.
Drinks: The drink menu was equally impressive, featuring a selection of refreshing mocktails and an extensive wine list. We particularly enjoyed the locally sourced wines that complemented our meal perfectly.
Overall: Costa Azul is a must-visit for vegetarians and food enthusiasts alike. The combination of delectable dishes, excellent service, and a stunning location makes it a top choice for dining in Lanzarote. We can’t wait to...
Read moreLocation - 5 Fabulous views sat right on the seafront and able (weather permitting) to see the sunset
Service - 4 We visited at 8pm and there were only approx 6 tables with people dining, so service was OK and pretty swift
Food - 3 We ordered the fish and seafood paella (minimum of 2 people) which was served in a communal dish. Presentation was OK, rice cooked nicely with flavour. The dish consisted of 5 muscles, 6 prawns, some chunks of fish here and there, chopped up calamari and 2 shrimp on top. The muscles were rather chewy as were the calamari pieces, making me think that this wasn't actually fresh seafood. I would have expected to see more choice off seafood, especially for the price, which I will cover next....
Value - 2 The menu said paella 2 people for €16.75, which I thought was OK, however when the bill arrived it turns out it is 2 people at €16.75 each. For this price I would have expected a lot more and better quality seafood. We only had garlic bread, 1 beer, an appletise, paella and 2 cappuccino and the bill was €46
I was looking forward to fresh plentiful seafood in a great location, unfortunately only the latter applied, very disappointed (PS, I work in catering and a...
Read moreThis review isn’t about the food—it’s about the appalling service. We were humiliated and kicked out, with two young children in tow, after waiting over 30 minutes in the heat. And no, the wait wasn’t due to a lack of tables—it was poor queue management and disorganized staff. We were patient and understanding, even knowing staffing is tight these days. But what happened next was unacceptable.
Just as we were about to order, we were told to leave because we “only wanted dessert and cocktails.” At 3 PM. After already waiting. It was condescending and short-sighted—especially since we were more than happy to pay for the premium view with a quick, respectful 30- to 45-minute visit. Instead, they ignored available tables, turned away willing customers, and prioritized pretentiousness over hospitality.
We chose not to cause a scene and instead used it as a teaching moment for our daughters about smart business and basic courtesy. Take our advice: skip the inflated attitude and bring a picnic instead—you’ll get the same view and save yourself the...
