I've been dreaming of returning to Restaurante Bogavante since stumbling upon this unique and gorgeous spot in 2021. I've followed them on Instagram and recommended the restaurant to others (which I now regret!). I tried to eat here last year for my birthday, but when we arrived we learnt it was closing early for staff training and the next day it was closed. This year, the stars aligned - my birthday was on a Friday, so they were likely to be open, and it was the most beautiful evening with lovely clear sky, perfect for sunsets. We were given a table on the beach terrace and started watching the sunset. El Golfo is such a magical place. Drinks were brought promptly, and we were ready to make our food orders from the menu. The only issue was that no one ever came to take them! We waited patiently (my birthday meal guest was my 4 year old son, so he waited as patiently as a hungry 4 year old can, and kudos to him, he was very patient) and we watched the stunning sunset. We waited some more, getting the attention of 3 different staff members who all said someone was coming to take our order. But no one came. One staff member I attracted attention from who told us a colleague would come to take our order focused on adding glasses and cutlery to an empty unoccupied table, rather than taking the initiative to take an order from waiting guests who were already present in the restaurant. It was truly bizarre. There were several staff members around, they were talking to guests at other tables and being attentive to them, and the place wasn't at all full. In the end, we had to give up and we left because I think waiting for 45 minutes to place an order for your birthday meal with a young child is more than enough reasonable patience. We ate elsewhere (delicious fresh fish) and I'd definitely return to gorgeous El Golfo, but sadly not Restaurante Bogovante. I truly wish I could write something more positive as I'd previously really backed this place, and I don't know what was going on last night, but there was no interest whatsoever in serving...

When a restaurant is not able to offer you food, I think it doesn’t fulfill the purpose and deserves a 1 star. What a shame we had this experience in this actually very sweet restaurant. After a long waiting for the service, we ordered fried puntillas (baby squid), lapas (local mussels), drinks and a menu of the house. The waitress even asked what kind of wine we will like to have which is included in the menu. They brought the cool beer, even the beer glass comes directly from the refrigerator, perfect. I also got my puntillas and lapas. Both delicious. One hour later we finally could catch the waitress and friendly asked about the menu of the house for my husband. She simply said „what menu? you didn’t order it.“ strangely we do received the drink of the menu. Okay then we tried to order it again but she meant it wasn’t possible since the menu is only available until 2 pm (not mentioned anywhere). No sorry, no solution, no redemption. She just left immediately while we were still shocked. Waited another half hour to pay the bill. The service was not friendly, not efficient, actually not existing at all. We waited like forever and my husband had to leave with a still...

Tourists, stay away from this place. Here is our personal experience. Absolutely to forget..

Beforehand I would say that I’m that kind of person that has no problem in spending much money on good food. What i can’t stand, is to be teased.

After a 40 minute wait just to order, we ordered 3 starters and a Paella, the waiter in a very rude and hasty way told us that the paella was available only before 18:30 (?!?), it was too late, it was 19:30. The waiter proposed to us the “catch of the day” without telling us what it was about, and when we asked for a menu, he rudely said the kitchen was closing (19:30!?!!) so we had to decide immediately. We understood why when the bill arrived. The single fish in the picture was 67€!! It was sold as a grouper and it was less than 2 kg… but the funniest part was that it wasn’t even a grouper. Be aware tourists, these people sell poor fish at 67€ each! Worst place I’ve ever tried, we’ll never came back.

P.S. Dear owner, we paid cash, but we only received a “consulta cuenta, NO VALIDO COMO FACTURA”, are you sure you are paying taxes on...

We are here at lunchtime. We sat outside right next to the waves crashing onto the beach, you just couldn't get a better setting than that. We saw a heron standing in the beach, less than 5 metres from our table. (We had come prepared with a jumper and scarf. ) The menu is fish oriented but there were choices suitable for non fish lovers. I had a half portion of scallops to start (cooked to perfection), followed by prawn and squid risotto in a creamy coconut sauce and a hint of ginger, which tasted heavenly. To finish I had a creamy fig mousse which I would definitely have again. My hubby had the bread and dips, followed by breaded chicken and chips, which he enjoyed. I would highly recommend this restaurant, not only for it's exquisite food and attentive service but also for the beach setting.
