We had lunch at Mar Azul. We were quickly approached by an overly enthusiastic waiter who informed us that he lives opposite our accommodation and stressed that he knows the owner. We initially only ordered mains (entrecote). I asked for mine to come with mushrooms, which were a starter as I didn't want chips. Waiter push-sold some Padron peppers that we didn't want but we were really intimidated by his attitude. We got my mushrooms and peppers as a starter. They were good, no complaints here. We then waited for mains only to find out entrecote was gone (2pm in the afternoon!!!) We were then push-sold the most expensive steaks on the menu instead. Waited 25 minutes for the mains while there was only one more table in the restaurant at the time. When my main arrived, there was something obviously wrong with it. Meat, chips I didn't order and vegetables all tasted of some kind of old oil. To be fair, I don't know what it was but I was not able to eat my meal, the smell of it was making me sick. I informed the waiter that I feel this is bad cooking and perhaps old oil. His response was that no one ever said that in 30 years, he just laughed at me. I returned a barely touched meal. We were still...

After a beautiful sunset at Los Hervideros, we chose to have our own tapas style dinner where we ordered a large variety of dishes to share. The food was pretty fantastic. We ordered the local specialty, lampas, which come on a roasting pan covered in green mojo sauce. We also got razor clams, which weren't actually on the menu but we specially requested, and clams in garlic oil. All the seafood dishes were well cooked and delicious. We also ordered the canarian potatoes w/ mojo sauces (because of course), shishito peppers, seafood croquettes, and bread + butter (which they charge for). Overall we left quite satiated and the bill wasn't overly pricey. We were, however, offput by the service. They spilled a whole glass of cava while filling and didn't even offer to replace the portion lost (we ordered a bottle). There were so many mishaps and it was difficult to get ahold of them - overall we attributed this to a laid back style of dining. Although we dined at night, the view is definitely a major...

We came to this restaurant as it was recommended to us, drove some distance to get there. When we arrived it was almost empty of customers when all the other restaurants were full, should have realised at this point that this was not a good sign. Staff rude and unhelpful. Clearly do not like the English. Starters were good, credit where it is due, but main of an avocado and prawn salad a complete joke. Few prawns in dressing and a sliced avocado? No actual salad? on asking we were told that avocado was a vegetable with a shrug??? Main meal portions sparse, not good value for money at all. Wine undrinkable. On questioning item on bill that we didn’t have, it was recalculated and we were then charged another 60 cents which had to be put on a card as I had no small change. Dismissive and rude. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant and could not wait to leave it. Plenty more restaurants with the views but with a welcoming staff and better...

The best restaurant on the Island, we discovered this gem after reading a review by Michelin chef Servais Tielman, and we were not disappointed Luis showcases the incredible local produce and cooks them to perfection. The local Gambas de la Santa were a real highlight. Located in a non-touristy part for the island the atmosphere was very calm and peaceful and we received a very warm welcome, our waiter was incredible and very attentive and recommended us the best wine and what to choose from the menu. This is a must go if you're a foodie and want incredible food at very reasonable prices. Gracias Luis and the team. ❤️

Decent restaurant with friendly staff. We sat on the terrace across the road and had some drinks while watching the ocean batter the coastline a little ways away, just far enough not to get wet from the splashing waves. The town is a bit cramped, in between a rock and a hard place one would say with the volcano on one side and the relentless ocean on the other. There's a large car park at the end of the town and I recommend to park there, it's a 2 minute walk back to town and there's more space for fewer cars there, so reduced risk of damages.
