Buono — Restaurant in Central Province

We came to Buono a few times during our visit this year to Sri Lanka as well as last year, and the food and coffee was as good as we remembered, it was excellent!

However, there are a few points that they can really improve upon to aid in customer service. This year when we came in (three times) at every visit they wouldn’t let us sit in the bigger booths as they said they were reserved for larger groups. So we had to sit on the stools which we not as comfortable until the small booths came available. We did ask if we could sit in the larger booth until a big group came then we would move. But on all occasions, we saw people come in and not be allowed to sit on the booths, but for hours at a time the booths sat empty. Even one elderly couple who you could tell were really uncomfortable on the stools. I understand keeping the booths for larger groups, but instead of saying “you can’t sit there” perhaps they should say, you can sit there but once a large group comes you have to move to the small booth or stools. Simply put, there’s no common sense in having two large booths stay empty just for the sake of it. My other piece of advise would be to check in on the customers to see if they need anything else every now and then. Buono was one of the best cafés I went to in Kandy. The calm and simple design makes you feel at ease as soon as you walk in. The white walls, warm lighting, and soft background music make it the perfect place to relax and enjoy your coffee. It feels both modern and cozy, which is a nice change from the busy streets outside. The drinks are really the best part here. The coffee I tried all had a rich smell, a smooth texture, and was made with care. The Coconut Coffee was my favorite. It was creamy, smelled great, and had the perfect mix of coconut sweetness and strong espresso. It's cool and different, which is great for Kandy's tropical weather. You have to try the iced version! The desserts and light snacks are also good and go well with the drinks. Everything they serve tastes fresh. The upstairs area is quiet and peaceful, making it a great place to read, talk, or work. The staff is nice and helpful, but the café can get busy, so service can be slow at times. The staff is friendly and really cares about how you feel, which makes the place feel warm. The most friendliest place You will find around Kandy to have a smoothie or coffee or a milkshake or whatever You prefer 😉😉😉 I have been there for three times within last six months and i do not have anything to complain about! Staff is soo friendly and they know how to treat their customer right! And they have a decent selection when it comes to food and beverages... And trust me they are as qaulity and tasty as any polish cafe You would name around Kandy! And the prices... It made me wonder whether they run a social service there instead of a business!!! The prices are that much reasonable! And usually You do not have to wait long, they prepare and serve your order fast! And another must mention is that they have a smoking area! You can enjoy your coffee while smoking a cigarette! This is important because most of them so-called cafes around kandy do not have a smoking area within the cafe! There are only like three cafes i have been so far! So it is worth mentioning! And the cleanness can be seen when you get there!
