Much hype about this place. My SIL, her husband, my wife and I, decided to get some dinner here. Despite it's terminalogy, Donor and Durum is equal to a sharwarma and a wrap like a tortilla (sans the crispness). Small restaurant, but extremely busy. The four of us wanted to try out both the donor and durum, but they were out of donor, so we went with regular sized durums, chicken and lamb. The chicken was Rs.650/- and the lamb Rs. 950/-. The food came in about a 15 minute span. Accompanied with a garlicky and tomato sauce, the durum was just the regular shawarma. Loaded with crunchy veggies, the chicken flavour came thru kind of mildly. But nothing extra ordinary. The lamb was old Frozen meat I guess, coz it certainly didn't have any flavor about it. I've eaten lamb on various occasions including during my stay in the Middle East. But this was not even close to to proper marinated lamb . We felt the pricing was way over the top for the serving we got, especially quantity wise. It would've been worthier spending on a sharwarma or burito down at Marine drive where the food trucks give a much healthier serving for a cheaper price. Donor and Durum - Not a recommended place to eat at, if ur looking at price Vs....
Read moreWe ordered the Arabic Shawarma and the Grilled Chicken Burger on 9th Sep 22. It was a horrible experience. The shawarma was filled in with like boiled chicken and a little mayo, and some lettuce. It had no seasoning and flavor at all. The description says it’s Mediterranean-flavored grilled chicken. Boy, they have no clue what a Mediterranean-flavored grilled chicken tastes like. The Grilled Chicken burger was not second to the Shawarma. It was a piece of stale chicken wrapped in the chicken skin. Probably to cover up the status of the chicken, it was over-grilled, and you could taste the burnt chicken. My wife puked after taking a bite. It’s a big-time rip-off and not worth the price. I spent Rs. 2674/- on UberEats to get this spoilt food. A person called Prasanna picked up the phone when I wanted to complain. He said the restaurant was closed and thanked me for the feedback. I could hear the loud noise of the staff watching a cricket match. I was wondering how seriously they take a customer's complaint. I would not recommend even trying this place as you will only get sick by trying their food. I have kept the remains of the food to take to them to try it for their...
Read moreWe ordered dinner at 8pm via Uber eats yesterday ( new years eve) . At 9.30pm the order was cancelled and we had no idea. We called at 9.45pm to be told that UBER eats had cancelled the order. Doner and Durum then promised us that they would send the food within 20 minutes (we are less than 1.5km away from the restaurant). Depite this, at 10.45pm food still had not arrived. We called to check and they said they were on our road and they couldn't find the house. They were unwilling to tell us exactly where they were, just that they could not find the house. It was NYE and we needed to leave at least by 11.15pm. We were starving but we left at 11.30pm as the food still had not arrived and Donor and Durum refused to explain where they were with our order, or what time they would arrive or even whether they had bothered to cook the food. Just after we left the house we received a call to say that they had arrived with the food. Over 3.5 hours AFTER we had placed the order. So very disappointed and our NYE plans were completely ruined. We are yet to receive an apology from either UBER Eats or...
