"We celebrated our son's 2nd birthday at GSH Colombo yesterday, and the experience was nothing short of amazing! From our very first visit, Ashani Pavithra, the coordinator, was incredibly supportive. She guided us through every step of the planning process, ensuring that everything was just right for our special day. Her dedication and attention to detail made all the difference, and we truly appreciated her warm and professional approach.

The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with every dish receiving compliments from our guests. The decorations were exactly as we had envisioned, adding a festive touch to the celebration. Most importantly, everything was done on time, which allowed us to enjoy the day without any stress.

It was raining tonight (2019OCT11) and I didn't feel like going out after my walk from Forte to GSH Colombo Hotel. Basically, I was tired and dinner was last on my mind. I looked at the menu and ordered the Chicken Baryani (RS959) and a mango lassi (RS395). Unexpectedly I was offered a free and complementary plate of papads, which was served with slices of lime, rings of red onions, sweet chillies sauce and a green sauce, which I believe is a peppermint sauce.

The chicken Baryani presented in a clay pot and was delicious. When the waiter kindly served it for me by spooning it out on my plateIt I could tell that the rice was perfectly cooked and fluffy. But the surprise was to come when I tasted it. Thw chicken was moist and had a spicy kick to it. This was beautifully contrasted by the sweet mango lassi.

Tomorrow I will be going to a Sri Lankan cooking class tour. I hope they will teach me on how to do the chicken Baryani the way the Mango Tree...

Went for the Saturday buffet which was amazing . Buffet was simple and there weren't allot of varieties but I think that's why you can enjoy everything perfectly. They had a soup , salad, naan , buriyani , mix vegi curry , dhal curry , paneer and butter chicken. Food was amazingly tasty.

And all this for just RS.1000/= . Yes just 1000/= net for the entire buffet. Staff and the service is good. Very friendly. Nice , clean and tidy restaurant with good seating arrangement.

Convenient place to host a dinner for your friends .

They also have a separate full salad bar just for Rs.600/= for the salad buffet which is an exceptionally good rate

I would obviously visit this place...
