I often walk by Hotel Sapphire and wanted to share some constructive feedback. While I havenโ€™t stayed at the hotel, I believe that first impressions are important, and the exterior appearance plays a crucial role in attracting guests. The pond on the street outside the hotel is in dire need of attention. Unfortunately, it currently resembles a neglected, old ditch rather than a well-maintained feature. This is unfortunate because the outer appearance of the hotel is the first impression for guests and passersby. A well-kept exterior can significantly influence people's perception of the hotel's quality and service. Investing in the maintenance and beautification of the pond area could transform it into an attractive feature, enhancing the overall appeal of the hotel. This small change could make a big difference in how potential guests view the property and decide to stay here. I hope the management considers this advice seriously. Improving the exterior can only complement the good service and amenities offered inside.

Sandwiched between two churches, the hotel sits in prime estate land in Wellawatte. The hotel was taken over a Sri Lankan born British conglomerate. The reception are is very well lit and nice. But the exterior needs work. The pond outside is in dire strait. It needs lots of work. Agave has formed. It may turn into a nightmare if mosquitoes start breeding. The management and the staff provides excellent service. The management must consider throwing little bit of more dough to the staff to keep them happy and continue their excellent services. The bar is nice and cozy to enjoy drinks. There must be more cocktails to entice foreign nationals. The hotel revenue comes from the Sri Lankan diaspora mainly. The rooms need refurbishment. The windowsills are dusty. The pe night cost average SLR 13,000.

Not at all worth high cost of the room though I was given luxury room. I fail to see the luxury parr. Was disappointed at the amenities provided or not provided at all. Outdated and outmoded rooms and bathroom. There were cockroaches crawling in the sink and shower at night. The shower was broken or whatever but I had to struggle with it everytime I had to shower. No bottled water provided for the room. When asked they said it's not available and asked me to use the jar of water that was given. I don't know when they filled it but it had something floating on it. The only saving grace was the front staff who were wonderful, helpful and friendly

I spent ten nights at this centrally located hotel in Wellawatte (Room No 305, boked via Agoda). The atmosphere was peaceful and the room itself was of a reasonable size, featuring standard amenities. However, the bathroom was in dire need of modernisation. The availability of hot water on the third floor (where my room was situated) was a significant issue, particularly in the mornings, until the seventh day of my stay. Despite reporting the problem to both reception and the maintenance team, it persisted. Thankfully, a formal complaint via email seemed to resolve the matter for the remainder of my visit. It did appear, however, that the hotel may have been selectively turning off the hot water supply. The housekeeping staff were excellent, and the hotel staff were generally polite and helpful. I utilised room service on three occasions and found the food and drink to be both delicious and promptly delivered. On the final day of my stay, I approached the reception in person to arrange dinner delivery to my room. Upon placing my order, I informed the receptionist that I lacked cash for payment and wished to settle the bill via card in advance, ensuring a seamless transaction upon the meal's delivery. The manager reassured me that prepayment was unnecessary and that I could settle the bill upon checkout the following day, with the cost being added to my room tab. However, another receptionist, perhaps unaware of my understanding of the local language, expressed concerns to the manager that I might depart without settling the bill if payment wasn't collected immediately. In response, the manager assured him that my belongings were still in the room, indicating there was no cause for concern. This exchange left me feeling slighted, and I found it offensive. On a positive note, the hotel allowed me to check in early and check out late at no extra charge, which was much appreciated. The room itself had efficient air conditioning, a safe, and a mini-bar. However, the towels provided were not always spotless and occasionally appeared stained. Overall, while the hotel's location and housekeeping were commendable, the issues with hot water and the incident regarding payment left a slightly...

My recent experience at Saphire Hotel Colombo left much to be desired, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment based on my stay.First and foremost, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was subpar. The lobby and common areas appeared worn and in need of a thorough renovation. Stains on the carpets, outdated furniture, and a general lack of upkeep created an unappealing first impression. The room I was assigned did not meet even the most basic standards. The furnishings were outdated, and the entire space exuded a stale odor. The bed linens and towels seemed worn and past their prime, lacking the crispness and cleanliness one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The bathroom, in particular, was a letdown, with signs of mold and mildew in the corners and an overall lack of attention to hygiene. The amenities promised by Saphire Hotel Colombo were far from impressive. The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable at best, making it challenging to carry out any work or leisure activities that require a stable internet connection. The gym facilities were outdated and poorly maintained, with malfunctioning equipment that posed a safety risk. The dining experience at the hotel did little to redeem the overall impression. The breakfast buffet lacked variety, and the quality of the food was mediocre at best. The restaurant staff appeared disinterested and provided lackluster service, further contributing to the disappointing atmosphere.Customer service was another major drawback during my stay. The staff displayed a lack of professionalism, with slow response times to inquiries and seemingly indifferent attitudes. Requests for assistance were met with a lack of urgency, leaving me with a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction. In conclusion, my experience at Saphire Hotel Colombo fell far short of expectations. The lack of attention to cleanliness, outdated facilities, subpar amenities, and indifferent customer service collectively make it an unappealing choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would strongly advise exploring alternative accommodations in Colombo to ensure a more pleasant and...
