Pinchos Östersund — Restaurant in Östersunds kommun

Me and my girlfriend have waited a long time to try Pinchos. Seen a lot about it in social media and were really looking forward to the opening in Trondheim, Norway later this year. We are now in östersund and found out they have one location here so we decided to try it. Biggest mistake of our vacation.

When we got there, we walked in since nobody were at the door to greet us. There was not alot of guests this sunday evening. I would say maybe 1/5 of the capacity tops. Then a "waitress"(?) comes over from behind the bar and tells us that we should have waited by the door. No hello, smile or nothing. Seemed like someone was having a bad day. How should we have known we should have been waiting at the door? A small sign that said we should wait for seating which none of us noticed.

Even though the restaurant didnt have many guests this evening, we were seated at a table that wasnt very good. Close to the bar, the open kitchen and toilet.

We get told how we should order food and drinks on the app, and that we must go to pick it up ourselves. Is this McDonalds? There were 4 waitresses/food runners in the restaurant this evening with 25 guests. And they cant even deliever the food to the table??

We decided to order food anyways, even though there were already enough red flags here.

First thing we noticed on the menu was that a lot of the items were missing. (Probably 86). There isnt a single menu for the whole chain so you wouldnt notice if you just dropped in. But things I really wanted to try like the plank steak, vodka pasta, and popcorn chicken were some of the things missing. We ended up ordering 8 different items of the menu anyways.

The phone beeped and we went to get our planks with food ourselves. The pasta overcooked with 2 very small meatpieces in it, corn ribs without parmesan.. and is it supposed to be pulled pork in the beef taco? In my head, when I read beef, it is something else. Some of the items were cold as well. Probably finished at different times. And is the guacamole made inhouse or just bought in a can from the store? And it would be very polite and kind if someone came by our table to ask if the food was okay.

I must say this is about the worst restaurant visit I’ve had EVER. I’ve also worked at different restaurants myself, like TGI Fridays which is comparable. And probably the first and most important thing we learnt, is to smile at the guests and welcome them in a nice way. Sadly there wasnt a single smile seen this evening… but the desert we decided to order over at Max Burger later this evening was delicious though. Highlight of the evening!

Sorry to say, Pincho, but if this is what you’re bringing to Norway and Trondheim, it wont last very long unfortunately. And I dont think you deserve a second...

Very unique experience in that there really isn't a waiting staff, but rather an app and pick up style. The staff that did work the were one of the kindest I've ever met, made the choice really easy. The food portions are tapas sized, so feel free to indulge. Their burger was top draw, and I really liked having churros for dessert. Food quality was good, and the bar had a decent selection. Perfect concept for me, love being able to eat multiple different things, not just commit to one dish, didn't have to wait very long either. Ordering totally via app, perfect
