Cheers Pub & Sportbar — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

Came here today to watch ice hockey since it’s the playoffs and pretty important games. Figured to grab a beer and enjoy the game. Right off the bat, not really welcoming energy. Bartender was really rude, only answering to the older men. Didn’t think much of it, but then proceeded to put the other game on full volume and the hockey on mute. When asked about it, answered really rude and couldn’t think of a compromise to other customers. I personally have worked in a bar for quite a while and situations like these are quite disgusting and unprofessional. I understand if it’s busy and you don’t have much time to help out. But when it’s slow? This is unacceptable behaviour. Would not recommend to visit this...

Jupp, då var mat ligan på gång igen. Denna gång föll valet på Cheers Pub & Sportbar, som just den dagen erbjöd en splittans ny meny. Vi möttes av mycket trevlig personal, och en ganska mysig miljö. Osså maten då? Vi startade med nachotallrik och chicken wings. Nachoplaten var en ganska standard variant, med 2 dip såser, inga andra val fanns. Chicken wingsen hade en mycket trevlig glace, och en vrålgod bluecheese dip med tillhörande selleristavar. Dock påminde texturen att vingarna kom från frysen, alltså inte färska.

Ribsen var gjorda på traditionellt vis från scratch, alltså inte fall-of-the-bone textur, utan var tämligen hårda. Glacen delade upp oss i olika läger, gilla och inte gilla. Det var en honung och jack daniels glace, intressant ide, men ingen fullträff. Summa sumarum blir lite blandad kompott, och det finns pontential att förbättra. Man får inte glömma att det är i första hand en pub, och all mat smakar mums med några pilsner innanför västen. Så om vi kommer tillbaka igen, så blir det snarare en onykter tillställning med öl och smashed burgers istället. Tack för mycket...

We went for the lángos that was not as good as expected. The bread was not fryed at high enough temperature, so it got oily and not crunchy outside. The toppings are Swedes style but actually worked out well. Even though it is a fast food, it took almost 10 minutes to get it which might explain the issue...
