Amazing setting, beautiful interior.
But.
Weirdest restaurant ever... We only visited the restaurant, not the hotel and hot the bar.
There were only 3 main menues, all around 400 kr. There were two tasting menues (ca 700-900 kr) though, but you are only allowed to eat these if the whole company orders them. We were 9 People so of course all of us didn't want the same food. When we asked why this was, the waitress said the chefs decided so and didn't give us a good reason why. 5 of us wanted the tasting menue (because the main meal options were not appealing at all) which was also more expensive, but we couldn't have it...
And here's another funny thing, the tasting menue contained appetizers and main meals that you could not order separately either, only in the tasting menue... Which we weren't allowed to order..
So, we went for the main meals. lamb and fish. The lamb Extremely small portions. Lamb piece was 3 square cm and half of it was a layer of fat. 5 people were to share 2 small bowls of potatoes, and with the fish we got a small bowl of salad to share between two people.
Before food everybody gets an appetizer; 2 spoons of broth with mushrooms and bread (eat lots of it because of what I told you about their main meals).
We had to wait for the waitress for long and she was not particularly service minded (smirked at us when we complained about the fact that we were not allowed to order what we wanted) and took us long to get the food, even though the place was quite empty.
The only good thing was the fact the the glass of wine I got was huge, helped me endure the evening.
I am not coming back to the restaurant. Possibly to the bar (that had a completely different menue, much more interesting, but you cannot order it from the restaurant).
If you are ok with not being able to order what you want and wait for long to get served, this is the...
Read moreGood and bad points Good Fabulous decadent restaurant with wonderful food. Trying very hard to be in the Michelin star group but tripped up on too many items
Bad Arrived just when a huge group of women were leaving. Rather than being ushered to our pre dinner table and staff taking our jackets the staff member just looked on at the chaos at the cloakroom. No initiative from staff. 15 minutes just to get our jackets in and a bad start
Pre drinks and the head waiter brought the wrong drinks menu which we only realised at end of night. Would have ordered something else if the correct menu was given.
Asked for a sommelier to talk through wine choices none arrived.
Booked as a 60th birthday celebration, which restaurant acknowledge then did nothing..poor
Main gripe was the restaurant was freezing. I paid £400 for dinner and when we mention to the head waiter about the room temperature she just said ''oh yes the hotel is having some issues'' Again use initiative possibly a free coffee or digestive to apologise for being cold all evening.
Final error the staff got our bill wrong by £100, someone else's wine was on the bill!!
Overall a disappointing night for a 60th birthday celebration with just too many errors and was massively overpriced for service received.
Would I go again.... If someone else was paying the bill yes. However they failed at too many items and if I'm paying that money I'd go to one of the many restaurants that actually have a Michelin star and I'm sure the staff are...
Read moreI have been to Dorsia a few times for a drink or a snack after work (the terrace in the summer is the best 💕) but last month I went there for my birthday and had the degustation menu and basically tried half their drinks menu. I don't think I even have to mention how insanely beautiful the decor is. Just go and see it yourself. The layers, the heavy curtains, the deep reds. It is so beautiful. The service is outstanding. From the people in reception to the person in the cloakroom and not to speak about the waiting staff or even the chefs. Extraordinary. Every dish was delivered in such a coordinated way, it really is an experience. I like to think we are not the kind of uptight people that treats waiting staff as pure service (we just like to eat good food) and I think our waiter noticed and even adapted his tone a bit to be a bit less uptight (without stopping being incredibly polite), which we appreciated and shows they are real professionals who know their jobs and how to make people feel comfortable. If we talk about the food, every single bite, from the appetizers to the dessert, was just delicious. My partner, who worked as a chef for +10 years couldn't stop talking about the flavours and textures a week after we were there. I honestly can't wait to go back. Definetely my favourite cocktail bar/restaurant in the city, it's really nice to have something a bit special, specially if you are as bored of scandi...
