Röhsska Museet houses a great collection of Scandinavian furniture starting from the 18th century. The spaces were the furniture is stored have great ambient, lighting, and overall composition. There are three stores and the underground store where you can find a nice collection of chairs positioned against the lecture hall. This juxtaposition of historical and functional chairs is quite witty. All expositions reveal some admirable thought process behind them and the work of the curators there is great!
An especially thought-provoking exhibition is the temporary exhibition Migration, showing the ways in which objects travel the world and influence cultural production in other countries. It also touches on the Sámi culture and displacement, which adds a nice social perspective on the collecting.
