Nestled in the heart of Gothenburg, this museum seamlessly blends contemporary and classical elements, offering a delightful and enriching experience for visitors.

Stepping into this museum was truly a pleasure. For those below 20 years old and students, the entrance is free – just ensure you have a valid document confirming your student status, such as the Swedish Mecenat, ISIC, or a university card bearing your name and photo.

Spread across multiple floors, the museum houses a captivating array of themed exhibitions. The allure doesn't end there, as they regularly introduce new seasonal exhibits, making a return visit a rewarding endeavor.

During my exploration in late July 2023, the current exhibitions were as follows (captured in accompanying pictures): Nordic Fashion, Inspiration from East Asia, and 18th-Century Design & Craft, the Swedish .

As a final treat, the entrance area boasts a museum shop stocked with a diverse array of items, along with a charming coffee haven, the...

Beautiful exhibition that goes into great depth in describing the craft process behind the art pieces.

Röhsska Museet houses a great collection of Scandinavian furniture starting from the 18th century. The spaces were the furniture is stored have great ambient, lighting, and overall composition. There are three stores and the underground store where you can find a nice collection of chairs positioned against the lecture hall. This juxtaposition of historical and functional chairs is quite witty. All expositions reveal some admirable thought process behind them and the work of the curators there is great!

An especially thought-provoking exhibition is the temporary exhibition Migration, showing the ways in which objects travel the world and influence cultural production in other countries. It also touches on the Sámi culture and displacement, which adds a nice social perspective on the collecting.

One of the most pleasing museum in Gothenburg and a must-see for any person...

Our family had an amazing time visiting this museum in Gothenburg. It’s an incredible place for all ages, offering a perfect blend of art, culture, and fun activities.

One of the best deals is the pass you can buy for adults, which grants access to four different museums for a small fee—a real bargain! Plus, kids under 17 can enter for free, making it an even better deal for families.

The kids were particularly captivated by the artwork and thoroughly enjoyed the interactive exhibits. The museum also boasts a great café, where we enjoyed some delicious treats, and a fantastic kids’ play area that kept the little ones entertained.

Don’t miss the well-stocked gift shop, where we found some unique souvenirs to remember our visit. Overall, this museum is a must-visit for families looking for an enriching and enjoyable experience...
