My husband always speaks so highly about 'daawat' the name itself is so inviting, and this this exactly how we felt when we went in, not only it was so beautiful and cosy inside, but it felt like you are in a authentic restaurant in India! The aroma just made you want to grab the menu straight away, and the sorts of names on the titles made you want to order everything because everything sounded so delicious! With so much choice.. I loved how each dish had its name and style such as pani puri shots with vodka.. Dessert-taste of your lovers lips, the children's menu had Akira special (which the dish was named after their daughter) which I thought was so sweet! You can see how much thought and creativity was put into everything. Not only that but the presentation of the food was beautiful, the sizzler caught everyone's attention and my husband Loved it!! The daal makhani was litteraly makhani silky and creamy! The paneer just melts in the mouth too and they said they make it fresh!! I coudnt stop taking pictures and videos of everything.. Even the dessert was so different, we got a sizzling hot brownie with smoke, which gave it an amazing aroma, the caramel sauce was also homemade by the wife with ginger and chilly with a frosted sweet candy on the top where you see the peices of the chilly and garlic inside, I can't stop talking about how impressive this was! 10/0 Highly recommend, go there once and you'll want to go there again and...
Read moreI actually went to this restaurant on Easter (29-03-24) for lunch. I ordered a lamb skewers and chicken vindaloo. Honestly to say as an Indian I don’t like the food taste. The Vindaloo I ordered for a spicy flavour and hotness. But what I got is tomato ketchup with Kashmiri chilli powder added for hotness. The lamb skewers stinks with the lamb foul smell. Overall it’s a waste of money. The most problem with Indian restaurants here in Sweden are not enough for Indian cuisine because of Swedish people, which is understandable. But the restaurants are not able to differentiate the spicy flavours vs the hottest from the chilli. When we ask for spicy they’re all thinking about the hottest of the chilli which is not right. Even every Swedish people should able to taste the actual flavours of Indian cuisine that’s the reason they’re coming to the restaurant. Just don’t fool the people with chillies and give...
Read moreThe food at Daawat is amazing, and the customer service is next level. After doing a bit of searching for good Indian food in Gothenburg, I came across Daawat. The reviews looked good and their online menu had some delicious sounding options.
I was trying to place an order on Uber Eats and noticed that the options there weren't matching up with what was outlined on the website. I called them up and explained that I wanted to order some items that I saw on the site but weren't available on Uber Eats. On top of that my girlfriend has some food intolerances and I asked to make quite a few modifications.
The person I spoke with didn't even hesitate to accommodate us. He told me that as soon as I put in my Uber Eats order, to call back and verify the mods left in the notes and he would make sure they all went through correctly.
Will definitely be...
