LILLA HUSET — Restaurant in Gotland Municipality

Unfortunately, we cannot agree with the many good reviews. The tartare was cut far too large, not seasoned and topped with so much parmesan and sauce that you couldn't taste the meat at all. The (tiny!) fish was soaked in oil and unfortunately also lacked flavor. The raw vegetables were fresh, but you don't need to go to a restaurant for that. The beet was well made and was the only dish with any real flavor. The cabbage itself also tasted good, and the cream cheese was ok. But here too, unfortunately, the craftsmanship was lacking. The potato was ok, unfortunately also hardly seasoned.

Overall, we had the feeling that more emphasis was placed on appearance than on taste. The undoubtedly fresh ingredients were unfortunately unable to develop their flavor. In general, the culinary craftsmanship was lacking. The tablecloth and glasses were not clean. We would not...

If you want to feel like you’re in the middle of history and also just a few footsteps away from the main square in a beautifully quaint but yet trendy street then this place is the bomb. Been here since the opening day and the food, wines, drinks, staff - all absolutely A++. They have their own music that doesn’t get drowned out by the bustling busy streets just 50m away in the main square. Feels young and trendy but also not in a way that’s not family friendly. Definitely one of my go to’s every time...

Hur mysigt ställe som helst egentligen så det var trist att maten var en besvikelse!

Vi åt en trio av potatis som bestod av potatismos (som var kleggig och tung i sin textur och saknade salt), kokt färskpotatis (är färskpotatissäsongen över? eller varför var även den så smaklös?) och friterad potatis (krispigt, gott). Även en okej rödbetsrätt med brynt smör-hollandaise men det var snålt med den goda osten ovanpå och hela rätten var ”one note” både vad gällande smak och textur. Den ”rostade” kålen var blek och vattning serverad med en löjligt liten mängd mandlar fast med hur mycket majonäs som helst. Fettet från mayon och hollandaisen dröjde sig kvar i munnen och gjorde att allt kändes flottigt då det inte heller fanns något som helst syrligt eller fräscht element på tallrikarna som kunde hjälpa till.

Tonkatsun var dock toppen - frasigt hölje men köttet saftigt inuti med en god citrusmajo (denna majonäs lyckligtvis mer fräsch än flottig) och en tonkatsusås som var aromatisk och komplex!

Plus för dom goda alkoholfria drinkarna dessutom. Jag tog dock ett glas rött som var rejält varmt men ja, det är inte lätt på sommaren att hålla go temp. Såg ut o ha ett spännande vinutbud annars så rekommenderar att dra hit...
