I've had hundreds of Banh Mi across three continents, but never one like this and not in a good way. The bread was terrible, the sandwich was ridiculously wide (XXL in width), and they used a cheap hoisin sauce! so cheap, in fact, that they had to mix in BBQ sauce to get that smoky flavor.
Since I’m allergic to BBQ sauce, I recognized it immediately (something that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu). When I asked one of the waitresses, she confirmed it by showing me the BBQ sauce bottle. Yet another, more senior staff member tried to tell me they were using “traditional spices,” seemingly trying to gaslight me after their colleague had already admitted to the BBQ sauce.
When I explained my allergy, they refused to refund me or make a new sandwich without the sauce, so I left and left all the food behind.
With Banh Mi, you usually expect a fresh balance of cilantro, cucumber, carrots, and pickles—but not here. If you're after a fast-food-style Banh Mi experience like something from Max, this might be for you. But if you're looking for something more traditional, you’re probably better off making it yourself.

Read moreLegit Vietnamese food with depth of flavor, very generous portions, and great price point. I ordered the pho, banh mi, and bun (twice). All very good. I visited multiple times during my visit to make sure it didn’t disappoint. I’d definitely eat here again.
Khanh outranks other Vietnamese restaurants in the area too: Mrs. Saigon on Engelbrektsgatan: their pho is way overpriced and doesn’t compete with a very weak, watery broth and small portion size (even when you order the “large”). You could order two full items from Khanh for the same price. Nguyen’s Sandwiches on Engelbrektsgatan: their banh mi is visibly smaller, okay flavors, and priced higher. Miss Vietnam on Södra Förstadsgatan: their bun is more expensive but significantly...
Read moreMost certainly worth a visit. I tried Pho in Australia for the first time and fell instantly in love with this fresh and delightful dish. Once back in Sweden Ibhave tried Pho in different places in Sweden, but also in Denmarknand in Czech Republic. NONE of them even close to what I got in Australia. But here at Khanh it was almost the same flavors and feeling I hade when I ate it in Australia. The only thing I missed was the Cilantro and chilies on the side.
On the outside, it doesn't look like much to the world, but the feeling and the scents inside are amazing. We also hade their Banh Mis, and the Pork one was AMAZING!!! Would recommend this place for anyone if you'd like to have an experience for...
