Friday night, September 29 - hoping for a quick early dinner we ordered delivery at 17:29 from Pleasure Food. A delivery arrived at 18:09, but it was someone else's food. Looked good, but my wife can't eat the rolls that came. I called the restaurant straight away and they apologized and said our food was there and ready to go and that it would be delivered in 10 minutes. No big deal, mistakes happen, so I went outside to wait for it as we have a starving two year old at this point. Pleasure Food is literally a 12 minute WALK from our house, but 20 minutes later, no one showed up. I called again at 18:31 - they apologized again and told me it was "on the way" and would just be another 10 minutes so I went back outside to wait for it. 20 minutes later, no delivery. I tried calling again at 18:54 to find out what happened but the line was busy. Busy again at 18:56, 18:58, 19:05, 19:08, 19:18, but I finally got through at 19:24 and they told me again it was "on the way" and would be there in 10 minutes. 10 minutes later, no delivery so we started cooking dinner and I called them at 19:34 to tell them to cancel the order, refund my money, and to not come. The man on the phone said the delivery was on the way and it was the owner bringing it so I could speak to him about this. About another 10 minutes later, the owner arrived and apologized and said "we got busy" and "we forgot your order."
I told him that this was unacceptable, we had a starving kid and had given up on them and cooked dinner, and to just refund my payment. He acted as though I should appreciate the fact that he came out himself to deliver the food. He offered the two-hour-old cold food and half off on my next order. I honestly can't believe he had the audacity to even argue with me about a refund, but in the end he said he would.
Something they could learn about running a business is to set expectation. Don't ever tell someone an order is "on the way" and will "be there in 10 minutes" when it is not. I could have taken my bike over and been there in 4 minutes and picked it up myself. They had ruined our Friday night. Instead of going to the park with my wife and kid after dinner as planned, I spent the evening stressed out, on the phone trying to find out what was going on, and waiting outside for a simple delivery order that came cold and over 90 minutes late, all with a starving 2 year old.
I hated to waste any more time dwelling on this awful experience to write this review, but it is a week later and I still have not been refunded. Be warned that your order can be forgotten about, abandoned, and then arrive late. Maybe my refund is being treated...
Read moreThere is a big sign that says tell us your allergies, normally sushi is easy for gluten allergy but this was a horrible experience that nearly put me in the hospital. We spoke in Swedish and English and explained gluten free; they said yes yes, and then gave us rolls covered in a brown sauce, when I asked what was in it they said it was gluten free, I said I need to see the bottle, indeed it was teriyaki sauce with wheat in it all over my food. I tried to show the guy on the bottle where it said wheat and that’s not gluten free. He did not want to hear it, we asked for the food to be made over again and again it came with the brown sauce, and we paid full price for it as the guy was just annoyed at me for asking. I ended up going to another sushi restaurant and eating elsewhere as I was in town for an Interview and did not want to risk being Ill or at worse a hospital visit. It’s too bad, I had heard good things and the sushi looked decent, but If they don’t understand allergies then pretending they do and saying yes yes is dangerous. Cannot recommend to anyone with allergies as they just say yes and give you the...
Read moreI loved the food! We got 2 variations of the warm dishes. Rice was cooked just perfectly. On the Mixed plate, the protein was very well seasoned and fresh tasting. We got very excited on the yakiniku. Tender and savoury, love love love! The dumplings were OK. I believe they are using ready made gyoza skin sheets. They were tasting good and the filling was juicy (we tried the chicken). Side salad - fresh. Plating - beautiful.
The restaurant is small but cozy. Staff was kind and respectful, allowed us time to browse the whole menu and food was served fast. Oh and last but not least, the Miso soup that comes included is de-li-cious! We...
