Ordered the pulled pork sandwich, asked for potato salad and was then asked if I wanted nachos or chips, went for the nachos and assumed the were in addition to the potato salad. I was wrong, the menu stated that sandwich would be served with slaw but there was none or potato salad, the waitress said the online menu was out of date and we had opted for nachos and that was it ( nachos were served dry with no sauce or dip offered ), we then showed her the scannable menu and it also mentioned slaw would be served with it. No sorry, no offer of something else, no offer of a discount just the blame put on the manager. Its a shame as the sandwich was nice and the beers were good.

Just to make it clear, the server when first questioned about the missing slaw blamed an old menu on the website, then when pointed out it was on the menu on the QR code blamed the manager for not updating the menu. We asked for the potato salad but didn't get it as we were just given the option of Nacho's or Crisps.

As for an excuse about running out of slaw..You know there's a few shops in walking distance where you can buy cabbage, carrots and mayo.

As for what you can do, if an item has changed, go with the server and admit it's a management error and the menu has changed, if has changed or you have ran out you it's best to get the server to advise at the time of ordering that something is not as advertised and offer an alternative.

Our meal did not look like the ones in other reviews so it begs the question were we singled out for special treatment or the staff just couldn't be...

Had several great experiences here.

Regarding food, they have several choices of burgers, sides, sodas, beer, wine, cider. Although "none fits all", I believe everyone can find something fitting their tastes. Waiting times vary based on the conditions of the pub: when full, it can get to an hour, but is generally below 20 minutes even for big groups.

Regarding service, I personally appreciate the positive approach of the servers and owner towards customers, trying to chat up a bit and always helpful in explaining the functioning of the tap wall to newcomers.

Regarding the atmosphere, the glass wall really allows to appreciate the vibes of the weather outside while sitting comfortably inside. Music is good, lights are nice and give proper vision in the tables. I laughed a bit when first discovering the "Harry Potter" candles on the roof.

In general would warmly suggest trying to students...
