Mäster Anders — Restaurant in Stockholm

After waiting for quite some time to dine at Mäster Anders, we finally visited on a quiet Monday evening at 19:00. The restaurant was spacious, pleasant, and calm—a great atmosphere for an evening out.

Our waiter was exceptionally friendly and attentive, taking the time to explain the menu and highlight the day’s special dishes. We started our meal with oysters, which were fresh and flavorful—a promising start.

For the main course, I opted for the French seafood soup, while my partner chose the steak tartare. Unfortunately, the soup fell short of my expectations. As a main course, I anticipated a richer variety of seafood, but it was fairly standard. The soup was very dark color and had a dominant flavor that overwhelmed the palate, making it difficult to enjoy more than a few spoonfuls. A touch of cream or a balancing element could have made it more enjoyable. Given its price, I expected more value and depth in flavor.

On the other hand, my partner’s steak tartare was well-prepared and enjoyable. To finish, we shared a crème brûlée, which was quite good, ending the meal on a sweeter note.

The total bill came to 1600 SEK, which included oysters, seafood soup, steak tartare, two glasses of white wine, one glass of red wine, and a beer.

Great dishes, great environment. But the staff has been quite rude. We just sat down the staff kept hurrying us up to order wine and first dish (we didn't even finish reading the menu).

During the meal, without consent, the staff took away the food that we haven't finished, didn't bother to ask, and the staff just flew away immediately.

Everything is in the rush, seemed that they want us to finish the food quickly. Very unpleasant and unfriendly.

Booked at table at 17:15 for me, my wife and our 1 year old. Left a comment in the booking that we were bringing a 1 year old and needed a kids chair. When we arrived the waitress said that they do not have any kids chairs and was rather rude. She also said that we should have left a comment about brining a kid, which we did. She checked our booking again and saw the comment. She gave no apology for missing our comment, told us there was nothing she could do and asked us to leave.
