Hotel C||I arrived after a long day travelling due to multiple trains and the flight |Was delighted to get off the Arlanda express and walk mere metres to the hotel (perfect to freshen up quickly)||Check in was quick with a friendly welcoming team and I was in my room in no time. ||Albeit I thought I’d booked the same room through two bookings which turned out not to be the case…||Part 1|Queen room standard ||This was a good room for one travelling as the website suggested, and was perfectly serviceable with clean facilities in good condition ||I particularly liked the opening window which can be a rarity these days of hermetically sealed air con enclosures, as I prefer some outside air around the room ||The bathroom was also fine with lots of amenities in large dispensers which I prefer to the single use tiny bottles throwing more plastic into landfill ||I slept well each night and the hotel nor the adjacent rooms were noisy, I had a room overlooking the courtyard garden ||Breakfast was well presented with a great array of fare, both hot and cold, with fresh breads and pastries through to bacon, eggs and the like|A particularly wide selection of juice/ smoothies also which was great, as well as yoghurt and plenty of toppings |As I was here a week it was nice to switch it up a bit ||Part 2 (same great reception team and breakfast)|Queen room superior - I changed over after a few days to this room type, it was more pleasant due to the space in the bathroom and room itself (not that the first room was unpleasant) so made for a more airy feel overall |The amenities and the facilities were by and large the same but again as the website suggests this is a better room for a bit more space / with two travelling as it had a bit more floor space and storage areas ||The hotel was well situated for both work and a spot of sightseeing, being very close to the subway and the teams, as well as to a variety of eateries at all different price points from burgers to steaks to authentic local and other European cuisines with a diverse range all in easy walking distance ||The hotel stowed my bags between room changes in their secure and capacious luggage room :)||Having tried a range of rooms, and needing to interface with the reception team on multiple matters and check in / checkout, and having sampled the fare for a week solid, I can strongly recommend this hotel on location, room types, service and food. If you can take the superior or deluxe rooms for that little bit more space. If not the clean bright modern rooms are still a...
Read moreHotel C took a look at the concept of "Squeaky Clean" and thought "nah, we can do better." What I found, consequently, was a hotel and a room where every millimetre was literally shining. Not only clean, but shining, even in the remotest corners. It was as if the whole place had been built yesterday. It almost felt sacrilegious to desecrate such a fresh and sparkling room with my presence. Give the cleaning staff a handsome raise!!||||Indeed, the room was slightly on the expensive side, and I also knew before arrival that it wouldn't be very large. But the furnishing was well thought out and made the room seem spacious enough, and it certainly offered good value for money.||||Having no window was no downside at all – on the contrary, the view from the Central Station quarters is nothing to write home about, and the absence of a window also made the room very pleasantly silent. Instead, the walls were plastered with a gigantic photographic type of wallpaper with a nice view of Stockholm's Old Town, making the room more pleasant and even less claustrophobic. The ventilation worked very well and one shouldn't shy away from a windowless room at all.||||As for the breakfast, it followed the trend among hotels in Sweden best described by, "What's for breakfast?" "Everything!" The buffet was the usual lavish 17th century banquet where nothing, absolutely nothing was missing, and where I probably ate for at least half the cost of the room itself. I'm writing this at 9pm the day I checked out and I'm STILL not hungry after the orgiastic breakfast. ||||I'm pointing this out because if you're planning to go shopping or sightseeing all day in the area, a good and solid breakfast will keep you in marching condition and be more valuable than you think. ||||The only downside I can detect was that the breakfast room tended to be quite crowded during "rush hour," and there were very few two- or four-person tables. You're likely to end up at a long table together with a dozen other guests, and while new acquaintances might be an added bonus, the feeling of being in a school canteen never quite leaves you. But you'll overcome any discomfort from that with a little courtesy.||||The staff was also very friendly, and I'd like to add an extra star for the layout of the reception itself as it offered an excellent view of everybody coming in or going out as well as an easy way to deal with any intruders. I felt very safe and protected by this alone.||||Keep up...
Read moreWe really appreciated the central location this hotel had in Stockholm. The hotel is located literally 20 m from the Arlanda Express exit and is close to major sites like Stockholm's Central Station, city hall, and many good restaurants. There is tram stations nearby that can help you get to Gamla Stan, the Royal Palace and the museum area.We liked the quiet room we had and it always seemed to be at the right temperature during our stay in December. The room was a bit compact but was packed full of stuff - we had two chairs, a large TV, a desk, a kettle and a small closet to hang jackets in. As a couple, we wish we booked the room with a slightly bigger bed but we had no problems sleeping through the night. We also wish the electrical was better planned in the room because the light switch and plug locations were not convenient - there was a reading lamp set pretty high above the bed, there wasn't a plug in on both sides of the bed and the majority of plugs in the room were under the desk space so our kettle had to be used on the floor. The bathroom was nice and clean at this hotel. They had some nice sage scented products including conditioner, shampoo and body soap. The towels were very absorbent and soft. It was easy to get hot water and the shower had very good pressure. The shower wall was not bolted to the ground and there wasn't a tight seal but water only leaked out once. The breakfast was a highlight at this hotel. They had a large dining area on the ground floor near the lobby area and they offer a large variety of items. They had a hot food area with pancakes, chicken sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes and vegetables with all the accompaniments like lingonberry sauce, whipped cream, mustard, maple syrup, etc. They had a coffee machine, large tea selection, smoothies, ginger/lemon shots, juices and on Saturday they offered us some non-alcoholic champagne. We appreciated the variety of cheese, pastries, fruit and cold items in the breakfast area as well. It was a good start to the day each day we were here.Check in went smoothly and they have options to do a digital check in and to check out online. The lobby area had a games area, a bar and a lounge space. They also had a Christmas station setup at the back of the lobby which had candy for the children on Saturday. Behind the hotel is an Ice Bar which is promoted at the hotel. If we find ourselves back in Stockholm we would consider this hotel again or recommend it to friends and...
