My stay at this hotel generally went very well. The hotel is very modern, nicely designed (especially its beautiful lobby), and was spotlessly clean every single day of my stay. A very big plus of the hotel is its great location close to the main Stockholm train station, specifically very close to the Arlanda Express airport train stop. Walking to the hotel from Arlanda Express is literally one block or 2 minutes. On top of that, the hotel is only a few streets away from the heart of Stockholm, and walking to the main shopping promenade takes only 4 minutes. Another big plus of the hotel’s location is the availability of many fast-food restaurants right next to the hotel, in case you want to eat very late. Coming back to the hotel, my late-evening check-in was very fast and easy. The front desk guy who helped me was super nice and sweet. Unfortunately,a big disappointment for me was getting a Superior Room without a bathtub, even though I had requested it when making my reservation through the Scandic official website. The guy told me that I arrived too late and all the Superior rooms with bathtubs were already occupied. My only concern here was why they didn’t keep this room for me in advance if they saw my request, which I made back in November 2024, by the way; it shouldn’t be a big deal. I would like to address this to the hotel management and ask them to pay attention to customers’ requests, especially if they make reservations through the official hotel website. Even though that sweet front desk guy suggested I stay for one night in the Superior Room with a shower and then move to another Superior Room with a bathtub the next day, I refused this option because I didn’t want to bring any difficulties into my stay. Finally, I got a corner Superior Room on the 4th floor (#4051), which provided some city view (as I also requested when making my reservation) and a good amount of natural daylight through a big window. On top of that, the room was very soundproof and perfectly quiet. I loved the room’s design a lot, and I felt very comfortable in it. The room was big, all the furniture was in great condition, and everything was spotlessly clean. The King-size bed was super comfortable, and the pillows were very nice and soft, with light but warm blankets. I liked having a small soft chair with a coffee table right next to the window. One of the downsides of the room was the lack of a refrigerator. I was very confused as to why a nice hotel like this Scandic and especially a Superior Room wouldn’t have one. They definitely need to add refrigerators to the rooms. Another minus for me was the size of the bathroom - it was extremely tiny, with everything placed right next to each other. But I have to say that the bathroom was designed very nicely, the floor was heated, and the shower stall was big and took up half of the bathroom. The bathroom amenities were the standard Scandic brand amenities, and as always, they were high-quality and smelled very nice. The Wi-Fi worked super fast throughout my stay. Another issue during my stay was accessing the hotel at night. You need your room key to get inside after a certain time (around 1 a.m., I believe). For some reason, my key didn’t work a few times (two nights in a row). When I rang the bell hoping for help from a front desk person, nobody was there to open the door for me. Luckily, on the first night, someone was leaving the hotel, so the door was opened for me that way. But the second time, I had to wait outside for almost 10 minutes. Fortunately, at some point, I decided to try my key again, and it worked. They really need to fix this issue, especially by ensuring that night staff is present in the lobby. For my four-night stay at this hotel, I approximately $480 USD,and I find $120 per night a reasonable deal for the overall quality of my room and the hotel. If I return to Stockholm, I would totally stay at this hotel again. And I absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone - single tourists visiting Stockholm for the first time, business travelers or families with kids.

A dirty prison: I've stayed in hundreds of hotels for work and this is only surpassed by one in Ushuaia for being dreadful. Putting a few cute words on leaflets and walls doesn't mean you can forget the basics. My room was windowless in a basement and felt like a cell; those suffering from depression, anxiety or claustrophobia will need additional support. The room was badly designed, not even a coat hook for your damp outwear, unless you wanted to use the hanger by the bed so you could smother yourself with your wet apparel as you sleep. The space saving flip-up table was no good for more than a quick perch as it didn't align with the bed and given the lighting was akin to a hospital basement in a John Carpenter film, it didn't really allow for productive work. It was so dusty you could create a piece of art in the detritus. Some of the sockets didn't work and whoever put the interior wall up to the bathroom must have been having an off day, as it wasn't straight to sit flush with the adjacent flooring and door so all the water from the shower poured onto the wooden bedroom floor. The showerhead hadn't been cleaned for a long time, the mirror was grubby. The dusty hair dryer sighs a high pitched repine for a more exciting motor. There were hairs all over the bathroom and bedroom of all types but mainly short blond-gingery ones, including on the toilet seat. Every time the neighbouring guest left their room, we all endured shaking walls. The grubbiness extended to the late 80s pub-style dimly lit corridors that cried out for the caress of a vacuum cleaner's rotating brushhead. In terms of value for money, a hostel would do better.

It's a performative 4 star hotel that's 3-stars. (for my UK travellers, it's Travelodge that charges Hilton prices, except it has a sauna) The bad: 1. The room - I stayed in a superior double room - the room was small, but that wasn't a major issue... the biggest issue was the shower. I doubt the interior designer and plumbing have actually tested them, it's an semi-open shower that leaks out to the floor, there no noticeable break or slant that allows the water to be self-contained to the shower itself. 2. The porcelain mug with no handles - need I explain more...... it's the just substance over functionality. You cannot make a hot drink in the room and expect to drink it unless you have two tissues wrapped around it. Whatta mug I felt trying to make a cuppa. 3. No soft touches - no umbrellas to borrow, no toiletries. Only the bog-standard shampoo & body wash. 4. Overall service - as a gen-z would put it. It was mid. Guaranteed check-in was at 4PM which for a brit an hour too late, but they had luggage lockers. However, there was nothing proactive about them... when it was raining I asked for an umbrella and she said we don't provide them...(that's fine but being in hospitality, there was nothing proactive, no suggestions or solution to the question. It'll be very tricky for first-time vistior to Sweden) The good: 1. The breakfast - absolutely stunning spread, plus love the lady who went to each table offering coffee & teas (like there was the self service machine, but she went above and beyond to serve us) 2. Sauna at the gym 3. Locaton - literally took me 5-min walk to get to the Arlanda Express. Would not return.

They position themselves as value for money, but not even close to that, see below.Plus, for the services they do not provide to you, of course they will themselves sustainable and environmentally friendly, although that is purely for profit!- Front staff: Not helpful and don't care about customers at all. Kindly ask if you can get an early check-in or when you can check-in at earliest, as it was a long flight, they remind you check-in times without trying to help at all. Thanks a lot, I didn't know the actual check-in time, so very helpful! The people taking care of the luggage were helpful!- Rooms: * Very basic and small rooms, small bathrooms. If you have 2 luggages, good luck with moving around in the room and putting your stuff in the closet (I had to name it closet but not really a closet).* Supposedly we stayed at a superior king room (room 5119), I believe king beds have a different size standard for Scandic hotels, it was not a king bed at all.* There is no A/C in the room, think twice, no A/C, meaning no proper heating! * Hence it was cold in the room in September, no matter what! But surely, they provide you with a paper telling that you can adjust your room's climate control by +/-2C from 20C; but our room never had reached 22C with that central fan system. At least, they are generous enough to provide you with a heating fan (see photo), how environmentally consious that is to provide an unefficient electric heating fan to help guests heat their rooms. I am sure putting in a proper central heating would be more environmentally friendly, but surely less profitable.* Room cleaning: Nothing impressive to be honest, as the rooms are very basic and you get very basic cleaning.* Last good news, I had seen a spider in room (see photos again)- Breakfast: Not sure why people praise it in reviews, breakfast was mediocore at best. Considering the standards of this hotel, maybe guests think that it was great. Only pro is that breakfast staff was helpful.Best thing about this hotel is its location and proximity to the...

Family of three (a 3 year old), we're three nights into our five night stay. As a family we've already stayed at many hotels in different countries. Even with a child I wouldn't say we're fussy or needy, but rather very easy and compromising. Unfortunately so far this has been the worst hotel experience, though NOT A BAD ONE.

Starting with the positives, the hotel is very nice and well located. our room a beautiful, large and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good variety for breakfast.

The sad reality. After travelling 9 hours our room was a bed short with a broken shower, we couldn't freshen up, relax or go feed our hungry toddler. The first night was the only night we had the right number of bath towels, which we've had to request everyday. We appreciate house keeping is on demand and today was the first time and probably the only time we'll have it done, despite requesting a morning clean we come back in the afternoon and had to wait for it to be done before we could go in and dry off and child could nap. The room was tidy, beds made, bins empty but I wouldn't say it was aspecially clean, cups still dirty, tissues empty and still a towel short. Disappointed with the lack of attention to detail. I have never had to contact any reception as much as I have done on this trip and I'm sure they're tried of hearing from us. Breakfasts are a good variety like I said but very busy and hectic at times. Guests wandering and waiting for tables. It's a shame, we really do enjoy the food.

Would I recommend this hotel? Only if you can get a good deal but definitely not for a families with babies or young children.

All style and no substance unfortunately. Two more nights,...
