Bad service. So Williams has one thing, apart from fat food and bad beer, and that is their Tuesday Quizzes. Me and my friends tried to make a team, and we thought we joined the queue after the bartender put our team name down in an Excel list behind the counter.
Lo' and behold our surprise when we called the next day and they snidely responded that "You book online, not in the bar", online they didn't even have the registration open. Not a single mention of a quiz.
Sure I will get some hate from students who has been there before and "totally love the place", and true, the place was cozy, but their atrocious service and attitude towards paying guests bears no resemblance to a good venue, regardless if it is for a drink, their fancy LCD-TV with latest Untappd checkins or their cozy atmosphere.
Edit: In the review from Taina below she said that their food was inedible, and then Williams Pub has the stomach to recommend her to not eat out. Or the other guy who complained about the waiters knowledge of Swedish, and they responded with "We're an English Pub?". So yeah, it seems like bad behavior and bad service is their MO. They are also making fun of a man just because he didn´t appreciate the expensive and small beers. They proceeded to mock him saying that it´s a bit different from the regular Falcon Export, a beer similar to Budweiser in the US.
Edit 2: I called them to settle the discussions. They called me the C-word and threatened me that "If I ever walk in to their bar again" and then...
Read moreAt the frontier of mediocrity. They've tried to recreate an English pub but the gaudy decor is too new for it to feel genuine. The beer selection is nothing to write home about. The food, on the other hand, is spectacularly underwhelming. Fish and chips, an English classic after all, comes with desiccated chips and peas seemingly recovered from the inside of a nuclear reactor: luminous and rock-hard. But the staff are friendly and the location is good if you're looking for a pit stop between the uni buildings on Daghammarskjöldväg and the rest of the town. Come here in a group. Drink. Leave before...
Read moreGreat beer, great food, great service! Came here to taste a local craft beer from Uppsala, stayed there thanks to the super nice interaction with the waitress & the chef. I'm glad I did, cause the food was perfect! I had some onion rings with the sirloin steak. I asked for a rare, and I got a rare steak that was full of flavour with a whiskey & pepper sauce (a bit too spicy for me, but nothing was left on my plate!). Chips were delicious as well, with perfect crisp and nice herbs seasoning 👍
I NEED to come back to Uppsala to come eat there soon!!
Love to the team 💙 wish you...
