Brasserie Stadsparken — Restaurant in Västerås kommun

This is not my first time in this place, but this visit was a disappointment.

We came in a large group to have a lunch. We all ordered the plate of the day and one fish plate. The food arrived fast. However, the food was extremely salty, you could see salt with a bare eye covering the food and plate (see the pic). None of us could finish the food. We notified the waiter, but no action was taken.

Besides, the paper they use for serving the fish and chips was decaying right away: the plastic was detaching from the paper (see the pics), so that it was easy to grab and eat it by mistake. What a disappointment to discover that you potentially ate some plastic!!

Overall, the location and the design of this place are very nice. The place is located in the city center, on a bank of the city river, next to a lovely park. The interior is stylish and beautiful, the seating outside on the terrace is lovely and comfy. Prices are rather high, a lunch is 145 sek which is ~ 15 eur, you get however in addition a small bowl with salad, bread, butter, a soft drink, and coffee with a cookie. The service was fast and polite.

The experience with the food was unpleasant, so I wouldn’t give this place a second chance...

The venue and service is excellent. The food leaves you wanting. The drinks are good, the staff is really friendly and service is excellent. The food, is never 100%. The surf and turf, the grill on the shrimps are excellent, the meat pairing, is dry and overly fat at the same time. And this goes through all the menu. The food is good, but there is always something that is missing or not paired right. It's a shame, based on the venue and staff... The kitchen needs to step up to help the good folks in...

Food's not bad but a tad boring and expensive. Had the wiener snitzel with bearnaise sauce AND a decent dollop of supposedly lemon spiced butter, so, a bit rich of a main that was... I wish there would have been a choice of fried potatoes, but nothing but fries to choose as condiment.

For dessert I had the dulche de leche mousse which I actually enjoyed more than the main.

So, all in all, bit of a disappointment, close but no cigarr, and...
