Plato Kitchen Bar — Restaurant in Basel

Bittersweet experience. The team is kind and attentive but the food could be much better in my opinion for the price. I would have fewer options but homemade and better executed. We had a few starters (calamari, pitta, octopus, zucchini, halloumi , stuffed peppers) and moussaka. Several of these could have been done at home and were too simple to justify eating out. The filling in the peppers was absent and lacked taste, the calami were too few, the halloumi could be juicier and the pitta made by them or bought from the plenty kebap shops who make the dough themselves. The moussaka had undercooked potatoes and could have stronger tomato flavour. The octopus had a mash potato that could have better taste if it had good olive oil or butter in it. The baklava was one of the most disappointing ones I’ve ever had, one of my friends is Turkish and agrees that wasn’t even a baklava. There is a Turkish shop nearby that sells far better ones that can be easily sourced by them. The chocolate dessert was ok. I assume their strong point is the terrace but during cold months it can’t be leveraged. I hope they improve to come back in the future as Gundeli has a lot of potential to succeed...

Few days ago visited Plato again for lunch got Suvlaki Chicken with Pita and Tzatziki the meat is quite dry and has a very mild taste, potatoes with oregano and feta is not on our tasting on the other hand we like Paidakia (Lamb chops) it taste very good i like how they cook the meat its tender and juicy. This place has a nice ambiance been here more than couple of times love to seat outside when the weather allows. The staff is very friendly service is fast, price is good superb Location. I will come back to try...

Mein Besuch in der Plato Kitchen Bar war ein absolutes Highlight! Dieses griechische Restaurant ist nicht nur sehr authentisch, sondern bietet auch eine hervorragende Küche. Die Gerichte sind unglaublich lecker und man schmeckt die Frische und Qualität der Zutaten in jedem Bissen. Besonders empfehlenswert sind die traditionellen Spezialitäten, die mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet werden.

Die Preise sind völlig in Ordnung und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt absolut. Man bekommt hier wirklich viel geboten für sein Geld. Besonders positiv aufgefallen ist mir die Bedienung: Das Personal ist mega nett, äußerst zuvorkommend und schafft es, eine familiäre und herzliche Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und gut aufgehoben.

Wir haben draußen gesessen und es war einfach herrlich. Obwohl das Restaurant an der Straße liegt, war es nicht zu laut und wir konnten unser Essen in Ruhe genießen. Das Ambiente draußen ist sehr gemütlich und einladend, perfekt für laue Sommerabende.

Insgesamt war unser Besuch in der Plato Kitchen Bar einfach nur fantastisch. Das leckere Essen, der großartige Service und das angenehme Ambiente haben uns überzeugt. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen und können dieses Restaurant nur jedem ans Herz legen, der authentische griechische Küche in bester Qualität...
