MUE Cubes - Capsule Hotel — Hotel in Basel

I was not in Basel for a long time and I just wanted somewhere to put my head down so the Mue Cubes was perfect. Prior to my arrival I received an email about how to check in which was pretty easy to complete. Following this I was sent an email with the code to get into the building and also a code for my key safe.||I arrived in the city at around 6pm and with the help of google maps I was able to find the hotel. There are no signs for the hotel and I found it by going down Peter Merianstrasse. Once located getting in was a breeze with the codes I had been sent by email.||My cube was cosy and very modern. I have previously stayed in a cube hotel and this one is much more modern with a keycard to unlock the cube and airconditioning in it as well.||In addition to having my cube I also had a locker which was not close to my cube so I did not use it much. I noticed other guests were not using their lockers much either.||I slept pretty well in the cube and I am not someone who suffers from claustrophobia so it was quite comfortable and I enjoyed being in my own little space. The bathroom was clean and well presented when I used it and overall the hotel was tidy.||The only downfall for me was that I did not meet any staff so if you do want any travel tips for the local area or general information I suggest Google or visit one of the other hotels...

It's clean enough but I've stayed in nicer capsule hotels for sure. This feels a bit like someone tried to get the most bang for their buck: there are cracks in the plywood or whatever the capsule is made of so a ton of light cracks in, the noise from the capsules above and next to you obviously reaches you (though appreciated the free ear plugs at the entrance) so you hear every breath and every person tossing and turning in the beds next to you. Each capsule is part of a group of maybe eight capsules so definitely feels quite crammed. All in all, it was cheap enough and fine enough but if I could afford £30 more I would stay...

Great location, friendly staff, the place is very clean and well looked after. There is a fridge which is great for budget travelers, great common area and comfortable beds with privacy. Bathrooms are always sparkling clean. The staff is super friendly and during my quick stay of 5 days updated so many things and added new features.
