Kirchenfeld — Restaurant in Bern

The food was truly delicious – the porcini mushrooms were fresh, the soup was excellent, and the lady who took our order was very kind and friendly.

However, aside from her, all the other staff made my companion and me feel strongly and clearly discriminated against, which completely ruined the dining experience.

Details: • When we entered, no one came to greet us despite several staff passing by. We were only seated after another guest pointed us out, and even then, no menu or water was provided until we specifically asked, and waited a long time. • During the meal, the servers just dropped the dishes on the table without a word, no explanation, no smile – yet I observed that other guests received proper attention. • At checkout, I even saw one server refuse to handle our bill when asked by another. The bill was delayed for a long time and, when it finally arrived, the attitude was impatient and dismissive.

For a Michelin-recommended restaurant in Switzerland, this kind of discriminatory and disrespectful service is simply unacceptable. The food deserves praise, but the service destroyed...

In our case we had a really long waiting time to be served and through the course. The food and taste are really basic, there is no way to justify the prices. The beef tartare was particularly tasteless, we could only taste the marinade ( most of it was probably Worcester sauce ..). The lamb rack was one like many others , the veggies banal. The dessert nothing amazing. Service was less than average. Wine ok. Price ... 180 CHF for 1 startet two main entries, 1 dessert and 2 glasses of wine. I recently dined at Restaurant Kirchfeld and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The service was top-notch, friendly and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. I had the Rindswürfel with mustard sauce, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The Rösti was equally delicious, crispy and well-seasoned. Additionally, the wine selection was excellent and priced very fairly, offering great value. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for high-quality food...
