In short, a disappointing experience: My family of 5 and I rushed to this restaurant from the botanical garden, escaping the "gastronomic offerings" (so to speak) available there. The rating and the food photos were promising. We had to hurry because that day it was closing from 1:30 PM to 6 PM. We arrived at 1:15 PM. The cook and attendant did not return our greeting and reminded us that they were closing soon, that we would have to take the food to go, and listed several other inconveniences. When we suggested eating at the outside tables, and after having to remind him to be kind (a very unpleasant situation), he agreed to serve us minimally well.

Even so, he couldn't help but add the comment that we had bought the "cheapest hot dogs" according to him. This created a very bad atmosphere of distrust for us. So much so that I was watching him while he cooked to make sure he didn’t spit in our burgers...

In the end, this gentleman closed at 1:33 PM.

I don't know if he treated us so poorly out of negligence, racism, envy, if he's having a hard time, if he doesn’t know any better, or perhaps he doesn’t feel valued at work, but I'm sure neither I, my wife, nor my children deserved it.

Decided to go off the beaten tourist path, my wife felt like something that wasn't "offered" on the crowded paths of Bern... she wanted a burger. So Soul Food X popped on the map with food reviews, we took a bus and walked 4 blocks. The place doesn't look like much, but it's clean and the quality is amazing, pleasantly surprised. Deniz who owns the place prepares each order by himself so he is not flipping 5+ burgers at the time. Cleans the flat iron grill after each order and takes care of them one by one. The fries are also amazing and the order is more than enough for two people. I'm a carnivore and this burger is by far one of the best...

The place is seriously small and only offers tables for up to 4 people.

That being said, the food served there is seriously good. You will be served home-made burgers, pizza and "Dogs" (eg. Chili-Dog, not actual dog meat!).
