As a Thai person, I came to this restaurant curious and somewhat hopeful after reading the positive reviews. Overall, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag for me.
We visited on a sunny Saturday and chose to sit outside, which was pleasant and relaxing since most guests were indoors. The service was genuinely good—friendly staff who were attentive and seemed knowledgeable about the menu, which was a plus.
The menu itself had intriguing names that made the dishes and cocktails sound very appealing. I ordered the green curry beef, and unfortunately, that’s where my disappointment was. They added raw (or very undercooked) bean sprouts to the curry—something that felt out of place and quite jarring to the flavor and texture. Green curry has a strong identity in Thai cuisine, and bean sprouts simply don’t belong there, especially not when they’re barely cooked. It really altered the dish in a way that left me quite unimpressed.
On the bright side, the cocktail I had was nice. The apple gyoza was just okay—not particularly memorable but not bad either.
The ambiance was nice, and if it weren’t for the strange take on a classic dish, I might have had a much better impression. Hopefully, they reconsider the green curry recipe. Some classics don’t need to...
Read moreI ordered the Aperol Spicy Ginger, a refreshing twist on the classic spritz enhanced with spicy ginger and mint, making it the best version I've had in Bern.
To start, we had the Papaya Salad Evergreen. This dish was a delightful mix of papaya strips, peanuts, carrots, snake beans, cherry tomatoes, and cilantro, all tossed in an aromatic Asian dressing, offering a crisp and flavorful start.
The Panang Curry with Chicken was a standout. This red peanut curry was richly layered with flavors and textures, incorporating Chinese cabbage, chillies, carrots, broccoli, pak choi, baby corn, and sprouts — a true testament to the kitchen's prowess in blending spices and ingredients.
The Naka Bay Tofu and the Pad Thai were superb, with the Pad Thai delivering a harmonious blend of rice noodles, Chinese leek, bean sprouts, egg, and coriander, all brought together by a savory tamarind sauce…delightfully smokey.
I highly recommend Nooch for anyone looking to explore rich, authentic Pan-Asian flavors in a setting that's as visually appealing as the food is delicious.
This particular location captivated us with its unique and funky decor — think cow print seats paired with malachite pillows, bold red walls, and shimmering disco balls creating a lively and...
Read more👍🏼The lady who served us was nice and attentive. 👍🏼 Location is easy to be found and very accessible, right in front of the tram/bus station. 👍🏼 Ice tea hibiscus was nice. 👎 The foods was not fantastic, I expected better taste and portion for the prices they've set. 👎 The seating arrangement IMO is too near from one table to another, we were there during the dinner time and it was rather full. We need to squeeze a bit to walk in and out from our table (probably because we sat in the corner). 👎 Having the menu on QR Code yet you have to call the waitress to order. Apparently you can't check out from the menu even though you can click the menu and choose your food. We didn't know about it and thought the problem was our phone (we tried with two phones and almost walked out because of frustration).
All in all, the experience would be not so bad had the food was nice...
