Chez Chico Parrilla Argentina — Restaurant in Crans-Montana

We had a delicious steak dinner here recently. The staff were friendly and the service was quick….which was related to the only negative we had about this restaurant which bills itself as an Argentine style steakhouse. True Argentinian steaks are cooked over live fire and these were definitely not…more likely, they were sous-vide prepared (as many steakhouses do) and then taken out of the water, dried and quickly seared on a grill before serving. A very efficient way to run a steakhouse which probable gets pretty busy during peak season, but it’s nothing like an Argentine grill experience.

Not recommended, I though it could be good because of the reviews but is not. The service is bad and the food is bad quality. First the "empanadas", they have sugar! The taste is just bad and the empanada's dough is as bad as the filling (I never eat in Argentina stuff like that), after one bite I was not able to continue, I left it mostly intact. After that the "milanesa" with "mixta" salad, I asked it in spanish to the waitress but she took me what you see in the picture that is not a "mixta salad" and besides that they took me sunflower oil, we are in Europe so how can they use sunflower oil for a salad when you have plenty of high quality olive oil?, and the "milanesa" was fried with bad oil because of that the brown color, simple horrible, unhealthy and very expensive chf 31. Honnêtement je suis un peu partagé. En tant qu'Argentin, un peu déçu, en tant que Suisse, content à moitié.

Premièrement, l'accueil pas top. Un sourire de la patronne aurait fait toute la différence. Nous avions 2 chiens avec nous et nous a clairement fait comprendre qu'elle nous proposait des places confortables pour le service. Pas confortables pour nous ou pour nos chiens, mais pour le service.

Deuxièmement, l'appellation "Parrilla" est en trop. Dans une vrai parrillada on ne sers jamais une viande sur une ardoise. Un maître de grillade est là pour vous servir la viande comme vous la demandez. Dans ce cas, le cuisinier fais juste dorer votre viande et vous l'envoie sur une ardoise pour être sûr de ne pas se tromper dans votre choix de cuisson. Et finalement, vous le faites vous même. Oui, j'ai vu les photos et je savais à quoi m'attendre comme service de viande (qui etait délicieuse d'ailleurs) puisque c'est la troisième visite que je fais de l'établissement. Mais l'appellation "Parrilla" ne corresponds pas puisqu'on ne grille pas votre viande.

Troisièmement, si l'ambiance se veut vraiment "Argentine" le fond de musique house est en trop. Comme d'autres avis ci dessous, j'aurais voulu entendre du tango.

Cela dit, l'équipe en salle se donne bien pour vous tirer un sourire et les plats, les vins et les desserts correspondent à l'identité de cuisine proposée.

Je remercie également la patronne d'avoir répondu à mon avis. Mais je crois qu'elle l'a mal interprété. Les choses ne se sont pas déroulées comme vous le dites madame, et vous le savez. Toutefois, je suis en droit de donner mon avis. Je ne suis pas un expert, mais étant Argentin et ayant travaillé dans la restauration plusieurs années, cela me donne quand-même une certaine expertise. Navré que mon avis vous déplaise, mais je ne demande pas un remboursement ou autre. Je ne fais que partager mon avis, tél que Google me le permets.
