Chez Gianni — Restaurant in Crans-Montana

Very rude and unprofessional owner. Shouted at me because my two-year-old quietly walked inside and touched the windows, even though we were the only ones indoors. He made us feel unwelcome from the start and spoke in an arrogant manner, saying he did not care and get out. Later I saw other reviews describing the same behaviour, so it is clearly not just me. I would strongly advise avoiding this restaurant.

Update. My son was standing on a bench, not on a table as claimed by the owner in his reply. I mentioned, in a friendly way, that I could clean the windows if they were dirty. The owner then said, in a rude tone, that my child was bothering him and the waitress, even though my son simply walked a short distance and said hello. I was right behind him at all times. We decided to cancel our order because of the unpleasant attitude. It is disappointing to see a restaurant owner blame a two-year-old child for such a minor thing and treat customers in this way.

In his reply, the owner made a personal remark about my husband’s feelings, which is presumptuous, unprofessional, and simply mean. My husband had, in fact, told him his behaviour was rude and inappropriate.

Chez Gianni in Crans has been my absolute favorite for years, and for good reason! Every single visit is a celebration. The food and drinks are “superbe”. Gianni truly knows how to spoil his guests with delicious dishes and perfect wines.

But Chez Gianni is more than just great food and drinks. The atmosphere is simply fantastic. There's always something new to discover, always something happening. Especially the Friday evenings are legendary, with amazing live music that gets the whole place buzzing. It's the perfect spot to enjoy, laugh, and dance.

If you come with family, you'll feel right at home immediately. I've been coming here for years with my entire family (kids and parents), and we always feel incredibly welcome. Gianni and his team ensure that everyone feels special, from young to old.

And then there's Gianni himself. What a character. This car-crazy owner has transformed what was once a dingy corner into a vibrant and lively restaurant. His passion and energy are palpable in every corner of Chez Gianni.

Add to that the fact that you can sit wonderfully in the sun, and you have the perfect spot.

Server took forever to take our order. My father has dietary restrictions and so we asked if it was possible to swap one ingredient with another (both of which were on the menu) and the server said that no modifications are allowed. My husband then ordered something else and asked for one ingredient to be changed and the server was happy to make that change. When I asked why his change is allowed, but ours is not the server said “it’s complicated”. My husband is white, we are not. That’s all I have to say. The food was very bland and we left having eaten no more than 20 to 30% of our dishes, the server, however, was not alarmed by this and was not curious if anything was wrong with the food.
