"If you don't have money stay home" With those words the restaurant owner greeted me after the dinner when I gave ihm the feedback that 9.80 CHF for one liter of TAP WATER is in my opinion too much. Yes he explained me that the price is in the menu, this doesn't change absolutely the fact that 9.80 CHF for a liter of tap water is still too much, even if it is written in the menu. Additionally, this doesn't justify such owner's arrogance which is simply unacceptable: actually is the first time that someone, who should be seen as a professional of customer service, has been that arrogant with me. I ate at Gentiana last night and had one of the nicest evenings is some time. The restaurant is in an old house/small building (very unusual for Davos with it's modern buildings) which was comfortable, clean, well maintained, and, yes, a bit dated but in a charming way. Admittedly, the restaurant was less than half full, but the food was very good and the service was excellent. My server was Jens, who I believe is also the owner; he greeted me at the door, seated me immediately, and answered all of my questions about the fondue and the wine list... all while also providing the 4 or 5 other tables with top service.
