Cui Yuan — Restaurant in Geneva

Story time:

Me and my wife, we didn't feel like having a big dinner so we decided to go for some dumplings takeaway instead. Among those dumplings were some FRIED Won-Ton and Fried Shrimp toasts, which we've only eaten inside the restaurant and really enjoyed (best in Geneva in my and her opinion).

I come to pick up my order, which only took 15 mins to prepare. I actually took around 25 minutes to arrive.

When I enter the restaurant, the lady shouts something to the chef and proceeds to take my payment. I then sit down and wait, puzzled to why I have to wait when I am 10 minutes late.

That is when I heard sizzling in the kitchen.

They actually waited for me to arrive to start frying the dumplings so that they stay crispy and hot by the time I arrive home.

We went there to get the meal combo (entre, main dish and a dessert) for CHF 20.50. The timing on the food is good. For entre we chose the shrimp toast. It's made fresh so you can feel the crisp on every bite. It's paired with a sweet and sour sauce to cut down the richness. For the main course I ordered the sweet and sour pork. The dish has a good portion and it's served in a chafing dish (keeping warm). Pork was fried perfectly with a nice sweet and tangy sauce (comes with pineapple chunks, peppers and onions). Pairing with the rice 🍚 makes the dish mouthwatering. The dessert at the end is a mango sorbet that looks like it is made by the chef. It has mango chunks in it. Overall I'm very satisfied with my dinner and will highly recommend this gem of a restaurant...

After spending time in Gruyere hiking visiting Geneva and finding this place was a blessing. Food was amazing and the service was impeccable. They even had fans for the table where other restaurants have no fans and no AC in the hot weather. Went there two times and had fish, beef, and chicken all were tasty and light dishes in contrast to the cheese based dishes I had earlier on my trip.
