Up until checkout, I would give it a five star. Checkout ruined the whole experience for me and as I plan to be back to Geneva again, will never step foot in this place again and will actively warm any friend of mine from staying at this hotel.
They informed me of a municipal tax on top of my stay, which wasn’t expensive it was like 3.5 F. I paid with card at the machine. When I said to the receptionist that I’ve never seen such a tax on top of stay after the fact, because in all my travels I genuinely have not. He continually told me to my face that I don’t know anything about anything. He then proceeded to write my debit card # on a piece of paper, after he already processed my card at the machine. I asked why he needs it on paper after I paid already, and when I asked for him to rip it up or give me the paper he started protesting and flailing his hands like a madman. I’ve had enough fraud on my card in the past, but seeing someone try and just steal my information in front of me and then belittle me for not allowing him to have it on paper after he charged me 3.5 franks already on a card is just plain brazen and straight up disgusting and disappointing.
I don’t know this gentleman’s name, but this incident happened at the front desk at 6am 1/25/25. If you do stay there and you see a sad man in his 60s, working the front desk - be aware.
Also, of all as a concept, charge me before, don’t charge me after or when I check out. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth on top of being belittled by a sad old man that will try and steal your credit card information in front of you without any hesitation.
Couldn’t believe this, because besides this - the hotel was fine for the price. Cute area, close to the city center. Room was very decent, comfortable and felt clean. Outlets were a problem and some didn’t work or were worn out, shower head does not fit the metal stand for it which was weird. But besides that, hotel was fine for the price. But as long as that man works there, and you respect yourself, I wouldn’t stay there. Couldn’t be more disappointed from the last interaction in this hotel,...
Read moreSaying that this hotel is not worth a visit is not enough. The "women" of reception literally attacked me verbally yelling in my face after I returned to the room shortly after lunch or at 14:30 because I went up in the room already thinking of relaxing in the room but in the room just waiting for me a beautiful surprise after almost all day out to see the city I was destroyed my only thought was a shower and go to sleep in bed as I open the door there was the same exact situation as I left it lacked toilet paper clean towels beds and bathroom had not been touched call in reception and tell me bad tone as if I was disturbing that they only had a cleaning lady and unfortunately not we could do nothing The phone call and I go down in the hall to know more about each other in particular way I talked to the girl with transparent glasses low brown who speaks Italian my mother tongue which annoys and starts yelling at me saying that " I MUST STAY CALM " Work in the hotel and never happened to me to treat and use those words to my clients I subscribe that I was talking to her with the right ways and wanted some explanations she angry tells me that in all the hotel have only one housekeeper and that as a priority They make the first rooms coming and I answered them and this must be my problem? There are other ways to respond.... And the other one a long brown-haired, shapely girl has witnessed the whole scene without saying a word even when her shift colleague raised his manners in short if I have to come to make my bed and clean my room and be attacked so I was better off another part NOT RECOMMENDED RUDE STAFF UNCOMFY LOCATION POOR...
Read moreIt is highly not recommended to stay at Kipling. It was a really terrible experience of staying there. Here are the reasons:
The price is almost the same as that of Hotel Warwick on the main street, but Kipling is inferior to Warwick in terms of facilities, location and all other aspects.
The room door was broken. I had to swipe the card countless times before it could be opened.
The shower head in the bathroom couldn't be fixed. I had to hold it by hand when taking a shower.
I had noted my room requirements when booking the hotel. When I entered the room for the first time, I found that the room given by the front desk was not what I had asked for. Moreover, when I checked in, the front desk didn't tell me that the room type I wanted was unavailable. It was after I noticed the difference between the room type and my requirements and immediately communicated with the front desk that they gave me the room type I had requested. That is to say, Kipling actually had such a room type on that day, but the front desk didn't offer it to me proactively and even told me that they didn't have the room type I had noted. It was only after my request and a second confirmation with the front desk that they gave me my desired room type. This made me feel really bad and uncomfortable.
Once again, it was a terribly bad stay! If I could choose again, I definitely wouldn't choose Kipling. Even if I go to Geneva again, I won't stay at...
