Having passed by several times and made mental notes to come visit, I finally had the chance to grab a table and certainly wasn’t disappointed.
With no reservation but dining alone, I was offered a seat on the terrace - very pleasant given the weather.
I opted for an Almaza beer from Lebanon (mighty refreshing) while perusing the menu and settled on the “Menu du Soir” option which offered 3 courses for CHF37 - a fresh salad to start, beef/lamb kofte with tasty potatoes and veg along with some of the tastiest, most succulent chicken I’ve had in a very long time. A glass (ok, 2!) of Lebanese rosé was a perfect accompaniment while dessert rounded off the menu with a tasty and perfectly sized portion of a flan with pistachio and honey.
Service was attentive, not intrusive, and while situated beside a road isn’t ideal for atmosphere, it’s not the busiest road and there are other options outside in a side terrace as well as indoors.
Good value, great food, friendly staff - will be back to try out more of the menu...
Read moreWe arrived at 6 pm on Sunday, 14 July 2024. Void of any customers, we could easily choose any table at the terrace. By the time we left at 7.10 pm, the entire restaurant seemed full, with a couple of tables occupied at a side alley. Tip: Arrive early or book a table well ahead.
Only 3-course menus are offered (that is, no ala carte). Menu A was a meat grill. Menu B was fish. Menu C was vegetarian, and F was vegan. For 35CHF, the main course came with a small but substantial bowl of fresh salad (I loved the bits of pomegranate) and a desert (a delightful flan with pistachio)
Food was served rather swiftly, and the service was friendly and prompt. The menu was entirely in French. I'd highly recommend...
Read moreGreat food and service! The owner was very friendly and accommodating, and we decided to let him bring us everything he recommended. The food was delicious, and the price was more than fair, especially considering it turned into a several course meal. The Lebanese wine was great, and the salad, hummus and moutabal all had great flavor. He brought additional appetizers of fatayer and sambousek that were delicious, and the dinner platter of lamb and chicken was perfect. The small dessert at the end of the meal was homemade ice cream and some kind of puff pastry. If I lived in the area, this...
