La Station — Restaurant in Lausanne

I liked this place. I only tried the bar but that was enough to tell that they try their best. We stayed for a long time there and the bartender suggested a lovely mystery soft drink to us, however it turned out to be something my grandmother used to make. He was nice and understanding. The food is alright, nothing incredible. The real problem is the price. They charge you high prices for very underwhelming food. It’s all style over substance. It’s a very artsy place where you sit on what seems to be salvaged furniture, where they serve you “natural wines” and charge you ridiculous prices so you can feel alternative. We came with 5 people and ordered 5 dishes because the waiter told us the point is to share everything. We all left...

A year ago, this was still THE unique, local, original bar/bistro in the neighbourhood, with warm and friendly staff, amazing experimental food for lunch and cozy social afternoons. And the best coffee in town.
