The food was really great especially pizza’s! apart Spaghetti Vongole which was insanely bad by all the means. But I just can’t give them 5* and let me explain you why.. this restaurant (if we can call it like that) is far away from Family friendly place. we were 3 people with a small child. We have ordered salads for starters and for the child we took pizza. I explicitly told them to bring the pizza with salads at the same time, as also i have mentioned that the child will eat pizza.. we got salads and no pizza. I mean thanks god that our child was polite and didn’t make the scene, even though she was starving.. we got the pizza with rest of our mains in the next 40min.. the most frustrating point was that they kept bringing food for the tables that came much later than we did. Not even to mention how spaghetti alla vongole situation was held - the owner ( i guess?) asked what was wrong with it, as I tried just few bites and had to leave full plate. I explained him really politely and I didn’t complain, I genuinely admired the good pizzas, but what the guy said was “ oh, this one is one of our most popular dishes, i don’t know why you didn’t like it, everybody likes it” dafuq? How arrogant can one be? Of course we were charged for the pasta and this person didn’t even properly said goodbye or apologized? This review is just for...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and want to highlight both the positives and a few concerns.
First, the food was delicious and truly authentic, reminiscent of what I've enjoyed in Italy. The menu offers a wide variety of options, making it very vegetarian-friendly, so there's something for everyone. The staff was friendly and interactive, which enhanced the overall experience. However, if you only speak English, be prepared to communicate your needs clearly, as some staff members may not be fully fluent. That said, they were very accommodating and eager to assist.
On a negative note, a lady walked in with her dog, which was allowed to roam around the restaurant. This really detracted from my dining experience, as I personally find it off-putting when dogs are present while I’m eating. I understand that this is a matter of personal preference, but it did impact my enjoyment of the meal. What added to my disappointment was that the staff seemed to notice my reaction but didn’t take any action.
In conclusion, while my experience was marred by the presence of the dog, the food was excellent, and the owner's friendly personality truly shone through. I would recommend this place for its great food, but I hope they consider their policy on pets in the...
Read moreWhen I walked into Sud Italienisches Restaurant Luzern, I got seated at a lovely little table in the back of a patio seating area. I was having a early dinner, and there was hardly anyone at the restaurant, so my waiter came up instantly and asked what I wanted. " I'm deciding between the carbonara and the pizza," I told him. "What do you recommend?" He said that if I was quite hungry, go for the carbonara, or if I wanted to eat some then take half home, go for the pizza. Once I had agreed on the carbonara, he wanted me to know that it did have real pig cheek in it. As a tourist, it's really nice to be warned about things you might not expect! But truly, this was one of the best carbonara s I've had. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the sauce was creamy and smooth and topped with meat and Parmesan. A really delicious pasta, and I could peel through the window to see the chefs making other meals while I ate. Truly a beautiful restaurant with incredible food, I...
