The gaming area (not the board games part) isn't interesting enough to spend more than around 90 mins there. We found that there wasn't really a big variety. Quite a few shooters in an area that was meant to be for 16+ only, but no staff was checking who was in there. Even though we grew up with these old consoles, there weren't many good games to play. And some were so old that they just weren't fun. We would have liked to see some variety such as Wonderboy, Bubble Bobble, Mutant Turtles, basically anything that isn't either shooting or racing. How about more Mario games and fewer pinball machines, which are all basically the same! There is only 1 VR headset to use, and only 1 game - Beat Saber- come on guys, theres loads of free games that don't last long and are fun to play! And a 2nd headset would be cool so you can play with/against your buddy. There were a few games that just didn't work and in the almost 2 hours we were there, we didn't see any staff upstairs who we could tell. Also, some of the games are unplayable as there's no instructions, especially the dancing one where the menu is in Japanese so you have no idea what you are choosing, how to get a 2 player game or anything. Such a shame as the concept is good, but there is huge room for improvement. Also, 3 toilets aren't enough for the amount of people there, and they aren't checked/cleaned enough (which should be done without customers having to tell the staff). A 2nd visit isn't necessary unless you want to just play boardgames.

A decent digital diversion worthy of two hours time, but not much more. Highlights included some of the original PCs and some vintage arcade and pinball. Even some Swissness is included with a virtual farming Experience. We probably invested at least 20 minutes playing this game as it was a lot of fun driving through the Swiss country side with a tractor and a pick up truck. Needless to say, writing your own crop signs in a field can’t be done in real life so it was a lot of fun to try this on a big screen. Although this game museum tries to offer an eclectic mixture of games in an effort to be diverse, there are only a few games of each type and genre. Definitely enjoyed the flash from the past while playing asteroids and defender, but many other classic games were missing that one would expect to find in such a museum. Having visited much better museums, we found it somewhat lacking in comparison to others we had visited. As for the location, that’s one of the highlights, because parking is not far away and there’s much to do and see near the museum, so it might just be best as part of an overall sightseeing tour. CHF 19.00/hour is a bit steep for the selection on offer. All in all, a nice visit, just could be so much more.

Gameorama is one-of-a-kind time capsule that spans the last 50 years of video gaming. This is not a museum - every console and game is playable: from arcade cabinets to consoles to PCs. There’s a game for everyone: Super Smash Brothers, Age of Empires, Farming Simulator, Time Crisis, just to name a few. The games are all in pristine condition and the nostalgia really runs its course. What is perhaps most impressive is its collection of gaming handhelds. It is the most comprehensive collection in the world, each of which are playable - something even Nintendo World in New York can’t boast. I’ve never seen anything like it before. There’s also a vast trove of tabletop games for rent on the first floor, next to a kiosk selling specialty drinks. Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance as it becomes quite packed during the afternoon. If you’ve ever played a video game, or even watched someone play, this place is not to miss.

First time then last time for us. We live in Zug and my son had a birthday party with his friends there and the pick up time was at 19pm, so we went there to pick him up. I arrived with my daughter who is 6 yo and she needs to go to the toilet urgently, so I just had time to put the drinks that I bought on the way on the table in the room where were the kids and parents playing and rushed to the toilet with her. My husband who arrived like 10' earlier took the drinks without knowing that outside drinking is not allowed. One of the employees came and violently took the drink from my husband hand saying that it's forbidden here and he had no right to be there neither as he didn't bought the ticket. I went out at the moment the employee was taking the drinks to the reception and saying that we were not allowed to enter without buying tickets. Sorry but the door was wind opened and there was no one at the reception desk when I arrived and I had a girl need to pee urgently so I just had time to ask one of the staffs there where was the toilet. And I thought we went there just to picking up my kid, not to stay and play neither. The reason my husband entered to the game room was because the father of birthday kid invited him to go in there. We went outside waiting and my daughter stayed with her brother and the adults in the room let her play at their spot, then the same staff sent her out buy saying she had no right to play neither as she had no tickets (you written at your door that kids under 6 are free, and my daughter is 6yo only). All my point here is if you open this place to welcome families with kids, then keep in mind that being flexible in some situations and being polite are the key attitudes there. If you were polite and explained things in a correct way then we were happy to pay 20chf for a ticket even if it's just for 10'. So yes, never come back here again.

Reply to your answer: My girl and I were still in the toilet while your employee found my husband with the drink in the game room (who were invited in by the father who organized the birthday section), And I did go in for the toilet then went out directly to the entrance door right after so no sneaky going in as he said. Also my daughter was staying in the game room later with the supervision of 2 adults next to her so she was not alone touching your machines neither. We respect and understand that there are rules but the way your employee treated us like un-behave teenagers was very unappreciated and...
