Prestige Bar & Club — Restaurant in Neuchâtel

Our tour stopped in this small town Neuchatel for lunch. Our guide said that all the restaurants are pretty good so we didn’t spend much time picking because time was limited.

The restaurant is right in the middle of town near a bunch of other restaurants and many shops. Unfortunately, since it was Monday, almost all of the shops were closed. It’s also about a five minute uphill walk to the castle (fort) and cathedral. There’s outside seating and indoor seating. The outside seating has heat lamps and they also have blankets on the chairs that you could use. It was quite cozy outside. We opted to sit outside since the heat was up really high inside. The inside seating area isn’t that big so I think people tend to sit outside.

The food came out pretty quickly. I was planning to order a salad, but somehow ended up ordering a burger topped with foie gras. I was full for the rest of the day, which is probably why this combo isn’t often found on menus. That said, I enjoyed it a lot. There was a lot of vegetables inside, and the cheese was good, of course, since it is Switzerland. The french fries were really tasty too. I love when the fries taste like potatoes. Service was super fast and we were able to order and eat within 40 minutes. My burger was $32 which is quite a good price in Switzerland, especially considering the beef and foie gras in it...

This summer I traveled around Switzerland. It was a finding for me that street food doesn’t meet my expectations. I was looking for a healthy and reasonable daily meal. Yesterday (June 22, 2025) we just wanted a few drinks, but the waiter came over to take our order and asked if we wanted dinner. We told him we only wanted a few drinks, but he didn't react kindly, perhaps because he was also trying to sell dinner. So we said goodbye to him and will never visit this restaurant again!
