The worst meal in Switzerland by far. I ordered a beef filet and a salad. What I got wasn't made by a chef or experienced cooker but rather by a 10 years old child. There were on the same plate some corn from a bin, some cooked beetroot pieces, cabbage and carrot with mayonnaise, lettuce and cherry tomatoes, all that swimming in a dressing - that supposed to be the "salad". By the side of the plate were some mild strips of the "filet", covered with dressing of its own and mixing with the dressing of the "salad". Imagine the mix! Normally this place is great and well known for the good food and the friendly service. But today the deer stripes were not good at all. The meat was full of fat chunks and muscle fibers - you could not chew the meat at all. Sadly they did not offer anything after I told them about the bad meat. We got an excuse, a sorry, that's it. Lets say, 44 Swiss franks is not cheap for a menu in this area, so i felt a bit sad only getting a sorry and no apologies from the chef or the manager. Fantastic restaurant in Schaffhausen with superb service and menu. Fresh menu with daily soups made from seasonal specialties like Romanesco Soup. Really tasty burgers and a Boar Burger. Thankfully they spoke English because my Swiss-German is not so great.

Lots to choose on the menu so it will be hard to pick. Recommend making reservations as I am sure they stay busy. Decor is first class with carved wood and tablecloth service as well as professionally trained staff.

It was very nice being able to pay separately for our group of 8. This will be a keeper for our day visit...
