Seldas — Restaurant in Schaffhausen

I stayed for 2 nights at Selda.. booked the 4 person bunked bed, yeay i got the lower bunk.. i love small hotels and the rooms are efficient/clean and beautifully craft bunked bed which i have never seen before.. no air-con but I opened the window and i slept really good. The beddings,towels are great and very comfortable, i love it.. Outside the room there is a small communal fridge, kettle, microwave, cups including complimentary tea/coffee/cream/sugar and drinking water. No breakfast but you can make your own simple one, also it has a nice terrace on the lower level for you to have your own breakfast .The only thing is never leave your keycard in your room at night or early morning, i got lock out of my room, a lovely couple guests, help to called them cause my phone is in the room and they came immediately after the call .. they are very friendly.. the nice girl when i check in early,also help me halfway with my bags when i am struggling a bit walking up the stairs .The hotel is nearby the train station and all public transport, and also the pretty Schaffhausen little town.For the price i paid , compared to other hotels/hostel.. Selda i recommend highly.. Don’t expect a lot but for me i will come back.. Thank you hotel staff and keep up...

Not recommended. Very bad service. Our stay at the Selda hotel has been a disaster. Things went from bad to worse. First, you should know that they do not have reception (all day) or any other service. So it is very difficult to be assisted in case of need. It's not bad, but calling that accommodation a hotel is not correct since it does not provide any service. The worst thing is that they don't answer the email either, or they do so late. Nothing bad, either, if nothing happens to you and you need help. And that's exactly what happened. On the second night, the bed frame broke and the couch and mattress fell to the floor. By the way, an old bed that had lasted too long…. In short, we contacted the person in charge by phone to help us and give us a solution (another room). But not only did he not help us, but he lied to us saying that he was going to transfer it to his superiors to give us a solution. In the end, he had to sleep on the floor. It should be said that the service person who served us did not know how to speak English or much German, or so he wanted to pretend. The next day, the hotel management responded by email, apologized and promised financial compensation for the damages caused (nothing out of this world), something that has not yet arrived. Month and a half later!!!

Nicht empfohlen. Sehr schlechter Service. Unser Aufenthalt im Selda Hotel war eine Katastrophe. Es wurde immer schlimmer. Zunächst sollten Sie wissen, dass es dort keine Rezeption (den ganzen Tag) oder einen anderen Service gibt. Daher ist es sehr schwierig, im Bedarfsfall Hilfe zu erhalten. Es ist nicht schlecht, aber diese Unterkunft als Hotel zu bezeichnen ist nicht korrekt, da sie keinen Service bietet. Das Schlimmste ist, dass sie die E-Mail auch nicht oder erst spät beantworten. Es ist auch nichts Schlimmes, wenn dir nichts passiert und du Hilfe brauchst. Und genau das ist passiert. In der zweiten Nacht brach das Bettgestell und die Couch samt Matratze fielen zu Boden. Übrigens ein altes Bett, das zu lange gehalten hat…. Kurz gesagt, wir haben die verantwortliche Person telefonisch kontaktiert, um uns zu helfen und uns eine Lösung zu geben (ein anderes Zimmer). Aber er hat uns nicht nur nicht geholfen, er hat uns auch angelogen und gesagt, dass er die Sache an seine Vorgesetzten weiterleiten würde, um uns eine Lösung zu geben. Am Ende mussten wir auf dem Boden schlafen. Es sollte gesagt werden, dass der Servicemitarbeiter, der uns bediente, weder Englisch noch viel Deutsch konnte oder zumindest so tun wollte. Am nächsten Tag antwortete die Hotelleitung per E-Mail, entschuldigte sich und versprach eine finanzielle Entschädigung für den verursachten Schaden (nichts Außergewöhnliches), was jedoch noch nicht eintraf. New Year’s Eve I traveled from Geneva to this hotel only to find out someone was at my room where I supposed to stay. Imagine driving more than 3 hours to celebrate New Year’s Eve in schaffhausen you do check in automatically with no receptionist around and you found someone in your room sleeping naked? That’s what I found myself in 🤷🏼‍♂️

I contacted the responsible listed in phone list to contact, she managed to book me in a hotel nearby but I was late for my New Year’s Eve dinner.
