Stein am Rhein was the final stop at the end of a long trip through Switzerland and Northern Italy. ||||Overlooking the lake, our two bedroom apartment felt more like a spacious condo than a European hotel room, and having driven 2000 km across multiple countries in our recent European trip, we needed to relax and spread out in comfort. This quiet hotel with lake view rooms was just how we wanted our last three days in this trip.||||Stein am Rhein is indeed a small town, although strikingly beautiful. Hotels are lined up along the river, but this hotel right at the river front with large rooms and courteous staff was probably the best we could have done. ||||Hotel offers underground parking and reasonably good breakfast at the lakeside. It is within 3 minutes walking distance to center of town where many restaurants offer a large variety of food. When we asked for a lounge chair for her to get some sun, they brought one to the roof deck along with towels. All in all, we could not have expected better service.||||If you are looking for a relaxed and spacious space for a stay in this boutique town, this hotel will meet all your...

Park under the hotel and leave the car, you can walk to town in 3 minutes. There is a nice little walk if you cross the bridge and turn left along the shore to another wooden bridge to a small island. Anyway, back to the hotel...all the usual amenities, definitely a 4 star with just a few quirks. We had room 226 which is a 2 bedroom, two bathroom suite with 180 degree lake views. Refrigerator, stove and tea kettle but no coffee cups, coffee, hotel information folders, tourist info or note pads. The suite had central heating but cooling was three tower style circulating fans. If you need a/c there are a bank of rooms with restricted lake views that all have split a/c units on the small balconies. We enjoyed our...
