I have been going regularly here and I really like the coffee and generally the atmosphere as well (and without that past experience, I would have given a maximum two-star rating). But what happened today is for me a no-go. I wanted scrambled eggs, which apparently were not available (although the menu states Monday to Friday). No problem, so I chose the eggs benedict. To my surprise, the eggs where not poached. I've asked the owner (?), who informed me that the eggs were oeuf parfait. This would be no problem, if it would be stated on the menu. But it's inacceptable for the owner to a) argue with the client and b) to tell me that eggs Benedict are made with oeuf parfait. Eggs Benedict are made with Poached eggs, that is the expectation and that is the known recipe. That's how I get my eggs Benedict in literally any other cafe/restaurant on the world (and I have eaten many :)).. If you offer something else, that is no problem. Just write it on the menu. I didn't want to discuss further to avoid spreading negative energy to other customers (it's a tiny place after all). But think about your attitude towards clients. The food itself is not bad, but if it doesn't match a common sense expectation, it just doesn't deliver the quality. It's a shame,.in itself the food is ok. I was offered to get something else instead and that wasn't my intention (as I had clearly stated), the owner just didn't listen to what I was saying and just stood his ground of pretending to be right. No, sorry, you lost me as a customer. There are many alternative options very close by and I will be frequenting those in the future. Good service can make up for disappointing food, no food quality can make up for disappointing service. (And I'm not including here the waiters, who are friendly...
Read moreA nice location and option to sit outside. However the big main issue is the food which we ordered did not match the menu descriptions at all. We ordered a so called bagel with thyme mozzarella and porchetta which we received as bacon or a ham alternative with melted cheddar…
The scrambled eggs with bacon mushrooms and Gruyère cheese cost a whopping 23 CHF , to which they forgot the cheese entirely. When addressing this, the waiter simply said “normally there should be Gruyère”. I was not offered a price reduction, unlike other customers in the past, nor an apology. Just a passive unbothered expression. Zero customer orientation.
Last, the two cold matchas we ordered were practically white and tasted entirely like milk. To which we pointed out that our neighboring table had way greener ones. The response here from the same waiter was “I make them and always add two spoons of matcha”. We were given new ones thankfully.
So overall - slow and very conceded service, which is a shame as the location itself has potential.
Also as future feedback : the eggs Benedict are only served till Thursday’s and not on Friday or the weekend which is a total lost market and revenue opportunity since these are peak brunch times. Finding someone who can make this dish on these days would be...
Read moreThis place is the place for you if you love coffee. By far, my favourite spot in Vevey and even in the area for coffee. The pancakes with blueberries are out of this world too! But the best thing here is the service, especially one lady, I think her name is Rachelle (brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes) who does an amazing thing here that everyone should know about. We saw her help a differently ambled man who struggles to eat on his own, she brought him the food he ordered then chatted with him and passed him food patiently. Apparently, she kind of befriended him after she saw that he struggles to talk and people were rude to him in another nearby shop. After she spent time with him at the cafe, we saw other people get up off their chairs to help him when it started raining, to get into the shade. This amazing woman at Brew not only probably made this man’s day she also inspired everyone else around to behave courteously with him. We can all learn so much from her. The management should know they have a...
