Bla Bla Vevey — Restaurant in Vevey

Hostesses were supremely rude. Arrived at 6:40 and refused to seat our party. I asked for seating outside at one of the various open covered tables but they still refused seating say that they were full and that a rush just occurred with many people coming. She was very and rude asked me to calm down when I had calmly inquired about one of the open outdoor tables. I’ve never had such an experience in my travels to Switzerland. I was completely shocked and dismayed at the rudeness exhibited by not one but three of the hostess/waitstaff. Don’t bother- try one of the other restaurants in Vevey. Great food and welcoming Swiss hospitality.

While I appreciate the prompt response from the owner, the response is patently false. Our party of four was turned away not once but twice. The first time claiming that due to incoming rain, seating outside was not available. Other patrons were already being seated outside, and the table I pointed out was under cover on the terrace. After pointing the available table, the hostess said that I needed to calm down and that they were not seating outside anymore and that the other hostess on the terrace would speak with me. There was nothing in my demeanor or attitude that conveyed anger or frustration. I simply suggested a solution to the excuse provided. When the other hostess came, I again suggested the table under cover and she said that they were not seating outside anymore and that no seats would be available inside because a large rush came in and there was no room or reservations available. At no time were other options suggested (cellar, veranda, or inside). I completely agree that there was room for seating, however, the two hostesses refused to seat our party of four. There was room available- I noted it specifically to both hostesses- but the excuses provided, of rain (it did not rain that evening, although it looked like it might) and no more seating, were a blatant and rude dismissal of our party. Looking at other reviews, this is apparently not the first occurrence of rudeness at this restaurant. It is a shame such behavior is permitted...

We had high hopes with Bla Bla. We wanted to plan a nice casual wedding reception in a cozy atmosphere. We loved the ambiance on the terrace and wanted to reserve a table for 15 ppl. The boss said, "No problem! Just send us an email". An email that was never answered. Then we wanted to speak to them in person, so we made a reservation for dinner. We wanted to come at 19:30 but were told to come at 19:00 instead. What??? Apparently guests are not allowed anymore to decide what time to come for dinner. We were also told that we cannot reserve a specific table but when we arrived we had to witness that the terrace was blocked by a party of 40ppl that was allowed to book a specific area. The explanation was "They are paying clients". As if we would eat for free. We arrived at 19:00 and were seated inside ....on a beautiful, sunny day. The waitress told us with a very snappy attitude that we could find ourselves a table outside once the group had left. Very disappointed about the attitude of the staff and the fact that we clearly had to delete Bla Bla off the list of our potential dinner venues, we left. Taking into account that this happened at a time when Covid regulations had just been relaxed, we thought that bars and restaurants would be happy to get business back. We were shocked about the attitude in the restaurant as well as the attitude not to get a reply to a simple email to make a dinner reservation.... in a restaurant!!! Covid or not, that can simply not happen!

Small addendum: 17 (!!) days after our initial email we finally received an answer with their menu attached that was anyway on the website. A bit late...

Absolutely fantastic! We discovered this restaurant by pure chance as we were walking around trying to find somewhere to have dinner. We got here almost at closing time but the team was kind enough to welcome and serve us. What a wonderful surprise it was! The moment we tasted our main dishes we immediately booked a table to have lunch the day after so we could try other dishes. It was so good! The terrace outside is very cozy and has a nice view of the lake and mountains and the inside is also very charming.

The food was just unbelievable, we tasted the burrata, the lasagna, gnocchi, tagliatelle al pesto, and everything was delicious. Special mention for the Cheesecake that was out of this world.

My partner and I both have been to numerous Italian restaurants all around the world, including in Italy, and BlaBla was one of the best if not THE best we have ever tried!

We will definitely come back to Blabla when visiting Vevey and will recommend to friends!
