Le Carré — Restaurant in Vevey

Totally unpleasant experience. First, my family and I sat outside on the terrace by the lake side. The waitressess did not even say hello. After at least 15 minutes, a very rude woman came and left the menu on the table and left without saying anything. We decided to leave. Sadly, we ended up on the other side of the building, thinking it was a different place. We entered the café and a rude woman said "not here, go upstairs". We went upstairs and were assisted by another rude woman who said "take this table the other one is dirty". We sat down, waited for at least 20 minutes. The same waitress came. We ordered: "deux vins chaud et puis..." to be immediately cut off by her saying: "we don't have vin chaud here and I wont go and get it downstairs!" , my niece and i starred at her surprised by her rudeness. We decided to leave. Terrible service in all its 3 different places: terrace, cafe and brasserie upstairs! Rude staff. Not welcoming at all....

I gave them 5 stars 2 years ago. Since then I have been there a few times more. However, most recently the quality of service has been going down. The waiters were not paying attention and had their masks on their chins (let's forget about pandemic, right?!). When the food arrived my plate was cold and had to ask to send it back to warm it up again. Took them 20 minutes before I saw it again; meanwhile my companion had already finished her food. Tables were free in the terrace but we were told they are reserved and we were sited inside. Those tables remained empty even when we finished our food and paid. When mentioned it, the waiters only wanted to argue. Overall, not such a pleasant...

Absolutely terrible service, they are consistently bad with customers. Me and some friends went coupe of times there for a breakfast and they are extremely rude with us, made us read the menu of the 3 choices they had even when I said can you explain as I didn't bring the glasses. The waiter said: well I don't have time, she had no one to serve. On a Sunday afternoon we want to sit down to have a drink, the grumpy waitress said, " sorry all of the tables are.reserved". SUNDAY afternoon ALL of the tables weete empty all day, we sat there outside at the lake for hours and nobody turn up, she just didn't want to work. Shame as it's a beaucoup Cafe with a top location Shame on...
