I won't go back. I went to Bebek last night to meet a few friends and our experience was underwhelming. Service was mediocre, the food was ok, and the drinks I cannot say since I ordered one cocktail and got something else instead.

One of my friends accidentally brushed one of the waitresses in the way back from the bathroom, and the waitress dropped a bottle. My friend felt super bad and was very apologetic. She came back to the table to then receive cold eyes from that waitress, and finally, the waitress came to our table to tell my friend she had elbowed her, and tell my friend she should be more careful. I understand that is unpleasant to have such a thing happen, but in a restaurant, the staff should not make a big deal of that and much less come to call out a client at their table for making a mistake and to blame them.

I asked our waitress whether they would be able to make a cocktail off the menu (a dirty martini) and she said of course. I had the impression she didn't understand what I was saying, but she confirmed they could make it. Half an hour later I get another drink -- martini, the beverage -- in an oversized shot glass. Another half an hour later and I had my martini, but it was anything except a dirty martini. I wouldn't mind if they told me that they didn't make anything off the menu, but if they said yes, they should at least make sure they are making what's been ordered.

Anyway, if you want to eat overpriced average food, in a not very friendly setting, then...

I’ve been to this restaurant twice with different friends. The staff is unfriendly and can be downright rude and out of place. A friend barely touched a waitress as she was coming back from the bathroom and the waitress let something fall on the floor. My friend was very apologetic before coming back to her chair next to me. The waitress came to her a bit later to tell her off in an angry way about pushing her and telling her not to do that, to be more careful next time (?!!!) I had never in my life witnessed this. We were ready to leave the place but as we were 9, our friends thought it would difficult to move and preferred not to make a scene. By the end of the meal, we proceeded to tell another member of staff about what had happened. The person was shockingly dismissive and seemed to blame my friend again for the incident! Throughout the meals, we also had the « privilege » to have the waitress roll her eyes to some of our requests e.g a ninth friend coming a bit later to join us for the meal or one person asking for some water!

The food is fine but the experience so nasty that I definitely won’t be going back to this restaurant! If you are looking for a lovely atmosphere and a friendly experience,...

One thing that stands out about Bebek is simply the ambiance. Inside you are welcomed with massive ceilings and an epic staircase. The concrete walls have subtle and strange art painted on them, and I'm a fan. If you find yourself atop the staircase, which you should, because who doesn't want to see what's up there? You'll find a cool bar with intimate seating, and the bathrooms. Those are kind of important. It fun to also look down at all the people eating. Like I said.. it's just a really cool set up and ambiance.

The food is wonderful. The moussaka was freaking delicious. Fantastic flavour and really nice blend of ingredients and textures. We also really loved the falafel. The other things we ordered (halloumi, oliven-labneh, tzatziki hummus, and tabouleh) made the meal absolutely delicious. The combo of awesome flavours and textures is totes key, and we smashed it! yes, I've apparently become an Australian surfer.

Anyway, Bebek is a winner. Ambiance, CHECK, good food, CHECK, great...

Had an early dinner here on Friday afternoon. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful but the weather was nice and we preferred to be seated on the patio like all the other guests: but we didn't realize that being near the bus stop, people were walking through the restaurant patio as a path through to the other side of the road. We ordered: Small Meze Variation💕 Leaf Salad with raspberry & Pomegranate Sauce Chicken Breast Skewers with Apricot Harissa Dip Iskender Kebap The meze was great, it comes with a side of fresh, soft type of homemade Pita. Especially loved the Hummus, chickpeas, eggplant and the fried onion/cheese rolls! Leaf Salad was goof with their Pomegranate Sauce, not too sweet. The chicken breast skewers were juicy but did not have a bbq/Charred flavour. The Iskender (beef) kebap was flavourful but the beef a bit overcooked and tough. Overall the flavours were very good for the whole meal and the service was good!

My experience at Bebek for a dinner was really good. First of all, our waiter was competent, always smiling and friendly even if under stress (this is SO important, at least to me, as I never go to restaurants only for the food, but to be treated good too). This said, we ordered the mixed meze menu a la discretion and some different singular mezes. Despite coming in small boules, I have to say that the food was filling! We didn’t order more mezes, despite the two guys being very hungry at first. What I perhaps liked less was the moussaka (just personal taste) and what I loved were definitely the joghurt/ginger sauce accompanying the potatoes and the oriental creme brûlée. I find it’s really hard to create good deserts with alternative milk, and this is definitely a good one. I definitely recommend this! Plus, the place is big and you don’t overhear other tables’ discussions, which can be a problem in many other places.
