Burgermeister Escherwyss ZÜRICH — Restaurant in Zurich

Service was around 10-15 mins, so that was a little long, but still okay. Though they seemed to be understaffed. Waiting times before I could order were quite long as well.

The food wasn't very good. I had the Chef burger. The bread itself was nice, but it was burnt (the toasted side was black and tasted of coal) . The burger patty was very thin and dry and there really was hardly any flavor at all. There was practically no sauce, which probably contributed to the lack of flavor. The burger overall was quite small for that pricepoint and didn't taste like much.

It was quite pricey too at 13.50 CHF and wasn't even served with fries (fries cost another 5.50 on top).

The restaurant is kinda cozy, but there's a constant beeping tone (not the order calls) and the entire room smelled of smoke, even though its a non smoking area.

All in all a disappointing experience,...

I ordered two burgers, one smashed and one regular cheeseburger. I specifically chose the smashed burger because it is supposed to be cooked thoroughly, and I also included a clear note requesting both burgers to be very well cooked as I am currently pregnant and need to avoid undercooked meat for health reasons. Unfortunately, both burgers arrived undercooked, with visible blood in the patties. Even the smashed burger was not cooked through and did not resemble a properly smashed patty. This was not only disappointing but also concerning given my dietary restrictions during pregnancy. I urge the restaurant to take special instructions more seriously, especially when they relate to health and safety. I won’t be ordering again unless I can trust that food safety...

Only positive about the visit was the friendly staff. Otherwise: our group ordered two portions of fries, received only one but on the bill they added both portions (and removed one after we complained) -got bbq sauce instead of the ordered cocktail sauce -burgers very greasy and too much salt&pepper -not paying attention to how we ordered our burgers (medium, medium-rare), they just handed out the burgers randomly -vegetarian burger looks and tastes boring (tofu). Other places have beyond meat patties. Just saying.
