American-style burgers & ribs, plus craft beer & wine in a garden restaurant popular for brunch.

I visited this brunch place for the first time beginning of dec and ordered the banana caramel pancake and pulled pork eggs Benedict. I enjoyed it enough to return a second time and took my mother with. She ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, but since she can’t eat half-cooked or runny eggs, I asked if the poached eggs could be cooked longer (about 5 minutes instead of the usual 3 I do at home). The waiter replied, “We can’t.” I was speechless, and the three of us just stared at him until he finally said, “I’ll try to tell the kitchen.” When the food arrived, the eggs were even less cooked, closer to raw than runny. We looked at the plates in disbelief, and the waiter apologized, saying, “Oh, sorry, let me take it and make a new one.” After quite a wait, he brought back the same plate. It was obvious they had just put it under a heat lamp or in the oven because the smoked salmon was now cooked, and the egg was still runny and barely cooked. I felt really disappointed. First, it shouldn’t be difficult to cook the egg a little longer. Second, it’s incredibly rude to just reheat the entire plate without considering the quality of the food. Lastly, the waiter asked us as we were about to leave if the speaker volume was too loud, something that should have been asked earlier, not at the end. On my first visit, the service was exceptional. The staff was lovely, thoughtful, and attentive. This time, however, the experience fell far short of expectations. For context, it wasn’t even busy when we were there.

My experience today at the Fork & Bottle was quite disappointing. We were a group of 6. The server took our orders memorized (not that this is a problem), but afterwards, we received the wrong dishes after a close to half an hour wait. I do not doubt the ability of the server at all; although I reckon it would be difficult when we each order different burgers/hot dogs with different sides. One monkfish burger was completely mistaken with a hot dog and our sides were also mixed up. When told it was the wrong dish, we were told in a hesitant manner that they can replace it, but it would take 10 minutes. As we were in a rush, and the food had taken quite a while, we just took the dishes and got over it. Please take more care and caution when taking orders, especially when you have over a group of 4 and very identical items on your menu. This completely offset our experience here. The food came out lukewarm; close to cold. The mayonnaise provided was impractical (big jar, small opening). A simple squirt bottle would be much easier. The sauce jars force you to eat with your hands.

We stopped by this brunch spot near Sihlcity in Zurich, and overall, it was a solid experience. The place has a rustic, countryside vibe, clearly more of a family-friendly brunch spot than a trendy city café. The menu is heavy on hearty, American-style dishes, especially the meat options – and those were actually really tasty. Everything meat-based was flavorful and satisfying, and the portions are generous, which helps justify the prices. We also tried the Avocado Toast (sadly no photo – we were too hungry), but that one fell short. It was quite bland and lacked any real seasoning. Drinks were on the smaller side for the price, and parking is tricky – the few spots available are usually taken. It’s close to the motorway, but not well connected by public transport. All in all, a simple, down-to-earth brunch spot with good food (especially for meat lovers), fair prices, and a relaxed setting. Pets are welcome, which adds to the charm. Not for everyone, but worth trying if you’re into this kind of place.

Fork and Bottle is a little taste of American heaven. Hahaha I don't know if that's true but it just felt right, you know? Anyway, they have plenty of seating inside but the real winner is all the lovely outside seating next to a massive park. They pride themselves on their craft beer, and they do have a lot of fun options - just be careful, some are really pricey! I always stick with the general Feldschlösschen on draft, even though I can't properly pronounce it. That might not even be the beer I order... anywaaaay! Their menu changes each season, but I've always been a big fan of their sweet potato fries. Their curries have also been nice, and same with their soups and salads. For a while I'd also just go crazy and order their big nachos with jack fruit - those are always yummy. Their brunch is great too. Their avocado toast is yummy along with their burrito. We've also had their mushroom toast which was good too! If you get Theresa as your waitress you're in for a treat, she's a gem. :D

Oh how we love Fork & Bottle! The atmosphere is adorable, the beer selection is huge, the menu has so many options plus creative specials, and the food is consistently delicious! The restaurant is near a beautiful park and has a few animals (ponies) outside of it. The outdoor area is huge with a ton of picnic tables. They have a kids play place so your kids can safely play while you enjoy a beer and the great atmosphere. The beer selection is so good! My husband is a fan of Trappist beer and they always have a rotating set of cool beer he loves to try. We've been three or four times and the food has consistently been amazing. Their burgers are the best we've had since we moved to Zürich - they're huge, perfectly cooked, with creative and toppings. I also hear that their Sunday brunch is the best so we'll have to roll out of bed to try that next.

Fork & Bottle offers a good range of options for those looking to enjoy an American style brunch on the weekend. Located at the edge of town, the restaurant is surrounded by lovely greenery which you may enjoy from their patio if the weather allows for it. Overall the food is good. The balance between quality, quantity, and price is more than fair. Portions are generous and you won’t leave hungry, but in the other hand, you won’t be blown away by the quality either. Fork & Bottle overall delivers on the expectations and provides a proper American brunch. The restaurant is spacious, so it’s good for larger groups as well. Also, it’s quite kid friendly, without turning into a playground. The nearby public parking is limited to 4 hours even on Sundays, however, that’s still enough time for you to have a nice stroll along the river after your meal.
