As requested, more information : Vapiano Silhcity does what it does appropriately. The problem is that the concept is just not good : Service at the counters is neither friendly nor polite. Orders are taken in a mechanical/industrial way with even less consideration than in a McDonald. To improve : smile, welcome (at the counter, the reception desk doesn't matter much) Waiting for the pizza with a wifi remote disk is a gimmick that just emphasize the factory approach of the whole place. To improve : serve at the table, use the wifi remote disk or similar gimmick to know where to if you don't know the table number. The card also seems somewhat useless and is one additional gimmick to learn. To improve : Get rid of the additional card and pay at counter ? You already have to swipe a card anyway at the counter... Waiting time is random, sometimes slow, sometimes superfast, and anyway you won't all get your food at the same time. To improve : Dead end here, I see no solution to this problem, as the restaurant is actually divided into multiple small independant counters. Food is okay, but nothing exceptional. To improve : quality is not on par with actual italian restaurants. It does feel fresh, it's just not very well made. Super basic most of the time. This is not a place where you'll want to stay awhile and relax and enjoy your meal, everything is meant to be expeditious. To improve : Dead end here again, the whole concept is about rushing in and rushing out.
Vapiano Silhcity is, in my opinion, at best a canteen that serves mainly Italian food. I don't like the concept, I didn't enjoy my multiple experiences here and thus, that's 2...
Read moreI love Vapiano. Usually. Unfortunately this location (and I feel it is the same for all of the CH locations) decided it would be fun to get rid of the waiters. In the Netherlands you use your phone to order and pay whatever you want, a waiter brings your order and you just leave after you are done. Heck, you are even seated if it is crowded. Like in any NICE place. At this place, in Zurich you have to go through an annoying process of getting the food and you have to literally grab it from the kitchen bar yourself. All while being guided by employees that don't really speak English that well. Yeah, no thanks. Food is very good, on par with the NL Vapiano(s) I went to, and price is decent for CH, I guess. Not low enough to justify the poor ordering experience though. Vapiano people: if you REALLY want to be quirky while cutting on employee costs, get waiter robots. They are super cool to see and they don't need to be paid salaries. Dadawan in Eindhoven does that and they have the same amount of waiters alongside the robots as you had just standing around and looking at the clients trying to figure out the...
Read moreI went yesterday to the movie theater arena and after I decided to go to the vapiano restaurest and have a pizza which I have always enjoyed there. Well all was ok, only the staff at the pizza stand was not really motivated and they were preparing the pizza without hygiene gloves. I did advised the person at the cash register if that was standard procedure to work with out the gloves and I was told that this was standard procedure. I was thinking that was an odd answer since I have been there before a few times and I have seen the staff at the pizza stand wear the standard equipment such as hygiene gloves, which I think is the minimum to ask for as a customer. Well after a while when I went to pick up my order I could see that the staff had indeed put on at least on one hand the glove. So I ask my self if the next time I decide to go eat there, the minimum standard hygiene procedures will be applied or if I have to...
