I visited a few weeks ago and tried the Christmas special, but my experience was a bit bewildering. I have worked as a waitress myself, so I empathise with the conflicts wait staff can encounter and I always look to resolve any issues without discomfort. My dish looked stunning, but sadly the pear was objectively undercooked. As the dish is not very big I had to ask the waiter for assistance and after explaining the problem to him, he told me that it is normal. Good sir, it is not normal if I can (without exaggeration) not slice through the pair. The alternative would have been to wolf it down and pray I don't choke - or more reasonable, take it back to the kitchen where I am sure the chef would have seen that the food was undercooked. Our waiter wanted to leave, after telling me that that's just how things are and I had to call out to him to request if he could please give me a steak knife, if I must deal with how things are :D and he gladly brought it to me. I didn't feel like I could get this resolved and as the dish was not the cheapest I tried to enjoy it as best as can. At the end of our dinner the waiter came back and while I just wanted to leave, he went ahead to explain to me in detail (and I am not making this up) how in nature, because fruits can be different - they are different. My friend and I looked at him pretty dumbfounded and I actually asked him to confirm if he is explaining to me that ingredients are not carbon copies of each other and he seemed glad that I understood!
The issue I take with this is, the answer would not have been to explain to me that a pear in nature can differ in consistency and one pear can be rock hard while another can be soft - the answer could have been to take the pear back into the kitchen and blast it for 5min more in the oven...
I do not blame the waiter for undercooked ingredients, the kitchen missed that and it would have been easily resolved to just take it back, I am upset that our waiter would argue with me about how I don't seem to comprehend that this food should be enjoyed while undercooked. This was a very strange dinner and we went across the street to the grocery store to buy some instant ramen, because I was, in fact still hungry.
Location: nice Ambience: beautiful Drinks: yummy
Food: looks nice, my friend's food was okay, mine was a farce which has haunted me for days until I finally had time to...
Read moreRUDENESS OF STAFF IS INCONCEIVABLE!! The dining experience at the establishment was characterized by a notable disparity between the quality of the food and the level of service provided. While the cuisine itself was commendable, the service aspect left much to be desired. Specifically, the attentiveness of the waitress was considerably lacking, as evidenced by the prolonged wait times for her to attend to our table and her failure to periodically check on our needs throughout the meal.
A particularly disconcerting incident occurred around 9:30 pm when an attempt was made to place an order for a gin and tonic at the counter. The interaction with the staff at this juncture was regrettably marked by rudeness and a lack of professionalism. Despite the establishment's stated closing time being 10 pm, I was informed in an impolite manner that the counter had already closed. The explanation provided, that the closure was due to the overwhelming volume of customers, was delivered in an unnecessarily loud and scolding manner.
Such an altercation with a member of the staff was both surprising and disappointing, and it brings to light the need for improved training and customer relations within the establishment. The incident marred an otherwise enjoyable dining experience and raises concerns about the level of professionalism exhibited by the staff.
In light of this encounter, it is my sincere hope that the management takes the necessary steps to address and rectify such incidents in the future. The customer experience is a pivotal aspect of any establishment, and it is imperative that interactions with the staff align with the values of courtesy, respect, and professionalism. Addressing this issue would undoubtedly contribute to an enhanced dining experience for...
Read moreHi, thanks for the opportunity to share my feedback. Overall everything was OK. It took 20 minutes for our cocktails to come (some after the food came). The eggs Benedict was a bit scary looking; the two orders we had the poached eggs were translucent and needed a bit more cooking. The dishes were both under seasoned but you provide salt on the table, so OK. My brunch sliders were also OK, flavorful but the portion was a bit lacking. The avocado toasts that were ordered were also middling and under seasoned. The kids really enjoyed the pancakes. The croque Monsieur was a bit soggy as the white bread really didn’t hold up to the bechamel; we ordered this since some were still hungry after their meals and this dish came out in less than one minute—which is a bit suspicious. The salad that came with it was dry—no dressing. There is oil on the table, yes, but the dry salad was a bit sad. I feel there is very little to do take our 3-star experience and turn it into a 5-star meal. The service was attentive enough, the place is great and great for kids, and the food is tasty, generally. But undercooked eggs and under seasoned food that still leaves you wondering if you should order more is a bit disappointing. I personally don’t like the pizza either—I’ve had it on two occasions and I find the dough to be too chewy and the middle part is/gets too soggy. Some people probably like this chewy dough but it’s not for me; there are too many other pizza places in this city that I prefer to...
