Kantine / Bom e Belli — Restaurant in Zurich

I really like the new restaurant Kantine. I have been there three times already. The interior is incredibly welcoming and with the combination of the comforting food you can get for lunch it is perfect to escape for a short time the busy work day. They offer three menus (changing daily) and I was never disappointed. The first time I went for the fresh lasagna (I just recently spend some months in Italy, and honestly the chef did an amazing job. One of the best lasagnas I had.) The second time I went for a tomato risotto and most recently for the cavatelli with zucchini. You would expect that everything is handmade, but once you had the pastas - wow you really know it. I personally think that Zurich needed a place like this, easygoing but made on an incredibly high level. I went twice with friends and once alone - perfect for both. Yes, it’s a canteen, not a ‘hot on instagram’ trendy eatery. BUT, the food is really good and always freshly made (with love for food, not profits like most canteens as it’s a non profit association) with quality ingredients, and with the daily menu around 20-22 chf (soup + salad + main dish) which is a steal for central Zurich. Ich hatte die 5-Gänge Tavolata Edizione “Alto Adige” und bin begeistert. Das Menü ist durchdacht, die Komponenten sind geschmacklich perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt, und die Gerichte boten eine spannenden Neuinterpretation typischer Südtiroler Spezialitäten.

Ich esse kein Fleisch und habe es in diesem Menü keineswegs vermisst. Meine fleischessende Begleitung hätte noch ein Secondo dazu wählen können, hat sich aber dagegen entschieden – wir waren auch so satt. Mir gefällt, dass auf hochwertige, regionale und saisonale Zutaten Wert gelegt wird und die Pasta handgemacht ist – das schmeckt man. Daher sind die Preise für mich angemessen.

Der Service war professionell und aufmerksam. Da wir großen Hunger hatten, wurden alle Gänge zügig hintereinander serviert, so wir wir es uns am Anfang gewünscht haben. Nach dem Essen hat uns die Bedienung noch die Auswahl an Digestifs vorgestellt. Besonders der hausgemachte Limoncello ist absolut zu empfehlen! Auch die anderen Drinks waren fein.
