Review 2024: I gave a new chance to the place. From the previous disappointing review (food 4stars, service and atmmosphere 1star), I can say service improved, and meat kept a very high standard, just a bit overpriced. This time we took a tomahawk for 2: we have chosen it, and got it served well cooked on fire and very tasty. As said service improved, even if it could improve a bit “just” offering a side salads or some potatoes including as complement (nothing is served with the meat unless ordering and paying individually…)
Review 2023: Good meat, inadequate and disappointing Service. I never felt so badly served in Zurich before. Had a dinner tonight (Wednesday) with a friend; the classical dine and chat. We booked the table at 8, but only few tables were occupied (= booking was not needed). We ordered an Argentinian entrecote, with spinach and grilled vegetables as a side. water and beer to drink. Waiter come back 2 times to collect missing pieces of the order. Water come after few minutes, while we were asked to be patient with the beer, since barrel had to be changed. No bead and butter were served, even if the table was settled for this (likely it was forgotten). Meat was served after 10 minutes accompanied by sauces and sides. All Very tasty and properly cooked. Beer… was not served. After the meat was finished we asked the waiter to cancel the order of the beer, and it ended up in having been forgotten. Waiter apologised for this. We were then asked if we would have liked to order something more (which we declined at that moment) and, without asking we were delivered the bill and the waiter with the card reader. Any wish for ordering something more to accompain the chat (still in progress) vanished at 9:30… feeling pushed to leave the restaurant (closing at 11). Firstly, we ordered a drink and then it sat on the counter waiting for someone to bring it over to us for about 15 minutes. The prices are so over priced for the experience and the food. We ordered the 400g rump steak (74 Swiss frank) and it was the most bland thing I have ever tasted and to add it came out cold. My partner also ordered a salad for her main but they brought the salad out with the starter. The wait for the steak was about an hour which I simply don’t understand when we ordered it rare. The waiter or owner (not sure who) sat outside chatting to locals. Service just like the food, not good at all.

Read moreIt was okay. Whilst the presentation and service was excellent, I can't help but be disappointed with the steak which lacked in flavor, taste and crust. Even more so disappointing as the uncook cuts looked nicely marbled and the coal fire grill on full display just seemed like this was going to be a slam dunk. Really appreciated the fact that staff came to show us the slabs of meat they would cut our steaks from but that might have given away the fact they were clearly not seasoned for long enough before cooking. Sides were good and the dessert was very tasty. Effectively everything was great... Except the steak. I suspect this was most driven by underseasoning and a fix could take the place up to four...
