Love the tantamen and the shio ramen the best. (Not surprising, tantamen is pure addiction and explosion of taste). The new tonkotsu is obviously different to prior industrially produced one, but accounting for the fact that the new one is 100% organically produced (whis applies in fact for the totality of the menu at Ikoo, Miki, etc. , but could be pointed out a bit more marketingwise, according to my opinion..), uses high quality local "raw material" and has a fresh "distinct" taste, i like it a lot too. Dessert : while the previous unequivocal taste experience was black sesamy , my new "love" is dedicated to the selfmade miso schocolate sorbet (to use the right technical term, since no milk has been added to "upgrade" the taste..) which is very similar in terms of craving intensity to its "older brother" tantamen ramen and is simply very very very well done! Bravo!! Im terms of waiters, some dont seem to understand German, but with combined Swiss and Japanese politeliness equipped, even the most xenophob client will be made happy here. Like also the ramen portions size; the minimalistic simplicity in layout, which allows for focusing on what is most important (food) and the cute fresh little flower vases. Absolutely...
Read moreit is a popular restaurant. it is quite full at times. in fact we basically had to eat beside two strangers, because they had no other tables available. i recommend that you reserve a table in advance.
even though the space was a bit cramped and full of people, the atmosphere of the restaurant was still pretty decent. i like that they showed off a couple of signature drinks, which are maybe less known to the normal customer.
the service was nice and fast. also they give you the option to eat with a fork, if you are not skilled enough to use chopsticks. if needed they can privide you with a disposable bib, to keep your clothes safe from accidental splashes or drops.
now to the food; the main part of this restaurant the menu consists of many popular japanese dishes. there are many tasty ramen variations, teriyaki noodles and many more great dishes. the drinks menu isn't small either, they serve a couple of delicious self-made drinks, as well as a couple of very great japanese beers! the food is incredible.
im sure i will visit this...
Read moreEver since visiting Japan last year I crave a good authentic Ramen like I was able to enjoy there and I have to say this really hit that craving! The Ramen is just like I remember it from back there and they even provide you with bibs so you don’t spill it all over yourself. The flavor is authentic and whole! If you want to eat Japanese ramen this is the place to come in Zurich! The staff is very kind and quick. However this was not the first time I tried to eat here. Due to its popularity and not being able to make reservations in advance nor call you just have to pull up and hope for the best. You might even have to wait for up to an hour. That is very inconvenient but I do understand that the staff is not at fault as the restaurant is just that popular! And even if you get a spot it is only for a specific amount of time so you can’t stay for much longer after having consumed your meal. One could say that adds to the authenticity as that is also common in japan. Either way it was a great and...
